TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Hawk I believe. There was a spirited fight where 5 or 6 could have taken the title before game 4 but it wasn't to be and he held on. Speedingbullet won best Stunty wrestling it from Maverick at the last (a first AWM ogre king). A really strong newcomer group showed up too and hopefully everyone enjoyed it - they all seemed to!

All of the above may not be true as I missed the awards ceremony but I think that was what the score file showed before I ran off! I will upload in a week when I return from holiday as I'm now on a ferry to France! Sorry gang!

Great day - well done Wobert for organising, playing in and delivering a great tournament with lots of prizes and fluff. Always a great fixture on the BB schedule and I think we've already secured our bigger, games store venue for 2018!

Likewise there was a spirited fight where 5 could have taken the spoon...

It's great to see more and more familiar faces from one tournament to the next. Thanks to Wobert, who deftly did the score admin even while I mucked up my dice rolls against him, and to everybody else who made this tournament such a pleasant one-day event. Pity that it seems to have outgrown the very agreeable venue.

Oh yes how could I forget the coveted spoon... Thor I believe 'won' the prize after a halfling off in game 4 with KFoged. My flings welcomed mid-table obscurity/ respectability where I think AngryHobbit (all-skink) and Nightwing's goblins settled too!!

To confirm the various winners. . . . . .

1st - Hawk
2nd - Raging82
3rd - Heartsbane
4th - Nazgob
Spoon - Thor

Most Touchdowns - Hungdonkeyman
Most Casualties - Nightwing
Stunty Cup - Speedingbullet
Rookie Wonder - Raging82
Star Player - Wobert

Thank you all for attending. We lost 3 people on the day which meant we had 37 players and so I was shoe horned into action. With such a fluffy competition with a lot of extra things to do in terms of admin it was a total nightmare to be honest. My 4 opponents pretty much played by themselves as I sat opposite them and did other things in between my moves - apologies for that.

We certainly reached the physical limits of the venue and I think possibly the competition itself. There is a desire to grow and grow AWM. When we started it was a mere 14 players, last year we hit 26 and this year for all intent and purposes it was 40 with me turning people away. I could see us easily going over 50 next year (in a different venue). This leaves me with a dilemma, either I put a hard cap on it to keep things manageable or we continue to grow but the rule set has to be streamlined. Too early for any decisions!

If anyone has any feedback on what did and didn't work for them then please feel free to post below or drop me a PM. Happy to hear what you did and didn't like. Last year because I didn't play it was easier to gauge the room, this year I just couldn't do that. I wouldn't be interested to hear if you liked the sponsorship deals or not. My plan was to make a bigger deal of that between rounds (announcing who had blown their draw in the previous round, giving a few highlights of who needs what etc for the next round) but as I was playing as well, prep time for that totally vanished.

LOST PROPERTY
Someone lost their NAF turn counter yesterday - if anyone finds they have a spare one at home then please let me know.

I also have a hot of pens left over (I'm keeping them) plus an older edition range ruler, a BB2016 Orc D8 and a very battered 'They think its all Ogre' Random Events card. If anyone is missing the latter 3 items then let me know.

Another great AWM tourney, thanks Wobert for the huge organisational effort and Cornish. Must have been a close fought stunty competition. With just one draw in the first two rounds, the Nobull Dozer's eventual stunty cup triumph was no doubt due to the deep submarine!

I think the three drop outs in the morning set us off on the wrong foot before round one (I couldn't prepare Score before we kicked off because I had the PC and Wob had the details of the changes) - and me being one of the last to finish in Round 1 didn't help! We then had a moment of anxiety as we drew round 2 and missed off two coaches (trying to be smart earlier in the week) but Nazgob came in with calm to realign events. From then on it was fine - we were able to keep to a tight timescale and see out 4 games, with limited pressure on calling anything until round 4 when (to allow people to go home) we had to put pressure on a dead rubber.

So I think it was more about Wobert wanting to deliver all his fluff and the extras to give this something extra - which he still did! Unfortunately Twelf was also one of our cancellations and we relied on him previously to distract coaches between games with quizzes last year!

I think Wob and I could both be 0's next year, then I can step in to balance and he can maintain his oversight whatever happens. We can play our league games against each other if we both don't compete! A couple of other Score users could make themselves known then they could also help with inputting if they finish first - again thanks to Nazgob and SpeedingBullet for taking this mantle this year.

Feedback to event from coaches I was scoping - venue was fine and any issues was more about needing bigger tables than more space. Heard a slight grumble on food choices being different than last year - less meat(!) but nothing major and eeryone loved the fact there were so many new faces joining and a hotly contested newcomer award. Some great paint jobs too!

Comments that the injuries were too much towards the end. Maybe one or the odd two extra injuries per round rather than 2 each round as by game 4 it was too much to keep track of religiously. Star was good - could be hilarious - but didn't spoil the games as he could just be used as a lino. And the new sponsorship idea was a success! It was great to have something else to chat about through the rounds.

Now I'm off the fix the NHS IT governance breach; the press mentions something about a malicious Score! programme setting off events... ???
