Why the merc hate?

In the context of this tourney, there's literally no reason to take them. I guess I banned them to keep it simple!

And in the context of the spreadsheet, I didn't program them in as it would have taken a while and I can't be arsed.

I think preventing the merc being taken is a good idea. If I read the rules right, we can only buy three additional skills? So that eliminates the possibility of a coach squeezing a 4th in via a mercenary?

Three additional skills per player.

I think Mercs can only be given one skill anyway.

Block and MB are both luxuries under the rules Luke, use Tackle, Mighty Blow, Piling On much more cost efficient

You can spam ClawPOMB if you want, but as you get no points for casualties and it's 80k for MB/Block alone, you're asking for trouble!

Whereas 30K gets you a Dauntless, Sneaky Git, Pass Block lineman. Much better
