I don't know why the dwarf hate. They are slow and have no st more than 3. If you play at their game and bash you will struggle. Change your game up.
Or take orc. The extra ST4 guys are massive.
I think it's nice to have an event that does let skill spam. So many don't. I say keep it as it is. Change and some one else will moan about something else.

My games v dwarfs weren't ridiculous - I played pretty badly against Nazgob, and he and Nuffle combined to punish me. Then game 5 was fun for various Jip-based reasons. I think too many of any team is a slight problem.

Great weekend again.
It's been 7 great years growing this event from an idea my wife had while stuck in traffic on the M1.
Thanks to everyone who has come over the years.
21 prize cakes
somewhere between 900 - 1000 mini cupcakes and brownies
I cant wait to come back just as a coach next year.
As for a rules tweek, i had been toying with allowing stacking. And after talking to people over the weekend i thought this might work, you can stack at the cost of skill+1 extra point.
So to stack a normal skill it would be 2 points, (1 point for the normal skill and 1 to stack)
to stack a double would be 3 points and to stack a skill upgrade would be 4
this might encourage people not to spam but still leave the option if they want to.

Luckily, i only had to play one Orc team. Thanks for a great time, and congrats to Dementor for giving me a terrifying half hour, where my dwarves were out casualtied and out scored by his halflings. Thank Nuffle for Zara!

I am of the opinion that the ruleset is fine. Virtually every other tournament seems to limit spamming and its not like Dwarfs or Orcs dominated, so why fix it? This was a record year in terms of numbers and I don't see that changing.
Personally, this is my favourite tournament of the year taking into account rulespack and venue - this was my third year and the rules have allowed me to bring three different teams with very different objectives each year and I have never failed to have fun.
If you want to tweak it slightly, why not rule that you can take up to four of any skill and any more than that count as a double?
And as for being bored, I think the most fun game I had all weekend was the 0-0(0-0) Orcs vs Orcs game against Gorgoroth. Proper edge of the seat stuff

a valid opinion and one I respect, personally I find these games to bring the best tactical play, a game where small margins can win or lose. its heavy on positional play rather than flair play that elf or rats may bring.
that said if woodelfs are about people moan, if undead are about people moan, if dwarfs are about ......
at the NAFC I was asked to consider a rule change to mix up the meta because people were fed up of Lizards, undead and wood elf....
what can you do? stop skill stacking to limit dwarfs and they will still come and they are viable in many rules, yet you see less lizards and Zons, but Elis thrive on limiting skill sets, I personally considered DaE for this weekend but for I expected a dwarf / C Dwarf meta so I changed it up.
I have to agree with Hobnail I feel the rules are fine and offer something no other event offers.
