Beast from the East
BloodBowl Tournament
Sept 28th 2019
9.30am – 6.30pm
RULES
The tournament will be played as a resurrection tournament. All injuries, including death, will be cleared after every game.
1 Rosters
All rosters for the BFTE have to be submitted by midnight sept 21st 2019 latest. The rosters will be checked against current NAF build restrictions (use little army designer if in any doubt). Error corrections are permitted until Sept 27th, 2019. After this date no changes will be permitted.
2 Division of Races (Tiers)
In order to reduce the unbalancing between the different races the World Cup will be divide the races into four tiers.
Tier 1: Amazons, Bretonnians, Chaos Dwarves, Dark Elves, Dwarves, Lizardmen, Norse, Orcs, Skaven, Undead, Wood Elves
Tier 2: Chaos Renegades, Elf Union, High Elves, Humans, Khemri, Necromantic
Tier 3: Daemons of Khorne, Chaos, Nurgle’s Rotters, Slann, Underworld Denizens, Vampires
Tier 4: Goblins, Halflings, Ogres
3 Team Creation
Teams at the BFTE will be built and will gain improvements (additional skills or stat upgrades) according to their placement in the tier system above. The composition of all teams and all improvements to be taken must be submitted before the tournament.
Team Building
Coaches must spend a minimum of 1,100,000 gold pieces when building their team. When building your team, you may buy:
At least 11 standard roster players before any star player
0-8 Re-Rolls
Assistant coaches
Cheerleaders
0-1 Apothecary or Igor, depending on race
0-9 Fan Factor
Inducements. The cost will be as following and will count for all 9 games:
0-2 Bloodweiser Kegs for each 50 kgp
0-3 Bribes for each 100 kgp, for Goblins only for each 50 kgp
0-1 Masterchef for 300 kgp, for Halflings only 100 kgp
0-2 NAF-approved star players for their regular cost
Wizards, (in)famous coaching staff and/or Special Play Cards are explicitly not allowed at the BFTE. If both teams have hired the same star player, he/she will play for both teams
Additional Cash
Each team receives additional funding based on their tier. Starting cash can be used for team building (as above) or used to buy skills or a mixture of both.
Tier Starting Cash After Lunch before game 2
1 1.200.000 40.000
2 1.250.000 40.000
3 1.300.000 40.000
4 1.320.000 40.000
A ‘normal’ skill costs 20 kgp
A ‘double’ skill costs 30 kgp
Tiers 1-3 are limited to one double skill during the tournament
Tier 4 may have 2 double skill
Your roster can have one player that has two additional skills. Both skills must be normal skills and the second skill has a cost of 30,000 gold pieces. These skills can be added at different times in the event.
Tier 4 may buy a single stat upgrade. This cannot be combined with any other additional skill.
+ MA / AV costs 40,000 gold pieces,
+ AG 50,000 gold pieces and
+ ST 60,000 gold pieces.
Star players may not receive additional skills or stat upgrades
The Skill "Piling On" will be used according to CRP, i.e. no Re-Rolls are required
All gold left unspent is lost, and does not carry over to games 2/3.
4 Pairings
The first matchups will be drawn randomly before the tournament. Subsequent rounds will be swiss.
5 How to win the Tournament (Scoring & Tiebreaker)

Concession:
-5 Points
Bonus points 1 each touchdown, 1 each injury, max 3 of either per game. i.e 3 INJ / 3TD total 16 points for win.
For determining the final standing and crowning the Winning Coach the following order will be applied:
Coach Points
Opponent score
Head-to-head performance to determine the Champion
Net touchdowns
Net casualties
Public coin toss to determine the World Champion (for ranking: electronic coin toss)
6 Teams

8 Additional Notes
Skill Marker /rubber bands / bottle caps
To have consistency through the tournament and to avoid miscommunication about the skills of each player please be very clear about skill ups on particular players whatever method you will be using.
FOOD
Lunch will be provided between games 1 & 2 (included in ticket price) snacks & refreshments available all day.
Rights of Referees
Every game is scheduled to be played within the given time (2 ¼ hours). The official game time will be presented at large screen in the gaming hall. All coaches are expected to stay in within this game time. Referees are allowed to put coaches on chess clocks if they are in danger of not finishing the game in time. Referees are allowed to stop game play immediately once the official game time is over.
During the event designated referees will be present to help with rule questions and tournament related questions. If a referee is requested to make a decision, this decision will be final for the remainder of the game. There might be the highly unlikely case that during a later game a different referee will make a different decision in the same game situation. This has to be accepted by all coaches.
Finally have fun and laugh at your terrible dice and tales of heroism and woe alike.

I've not done it for a while (the last tourney I ran was in 2015) but this is the procedure for getting NAF sanctioning :

Setting it up on the NAF site is quite handy as when you've finished the tourney, you can upload the Score! file directly to get the site so that the results go straight to the NAF for checking.
