The Red Trophy IV is a 1-day Blood Bowl tournament which will take place in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire on Saturday August 15th 2020. The tournament will be resurrection style, meaning all injuries and player deaths etc. reset after each round. The format of the tournament will be a random pairing for round one, followed by swiss style for the five rounds thereafter.

Please note there is no parking at the venue (we are inside a shopping centre with access also on the high street).

Cost:

£10 for NAF members, you must be a member of the NAF to play, there will be no provision to sign up on the day.

There is a strict cap on 14 players.

(We'll get lots of trophies for all the different prizes, but if you're only on the hunt for a snazzy NAF shield, this may not be possible.)

Food:

To keep the cost of entry down, lunch is not included in the ticket price. There are a multitude of cafe's etc. within just a few minutes of the store.

Rules:

The Red Trophy will use the NAF CRP, with the following caveats:

+ Any roster updates published by Games Workshop up to one week before the tournament start date will be allowed.
+ Any star players published by Games Workshop up to one week before the tournament start date will be allowed.
+ Khorne, Bretonnians and Slann/Kislev Circus are permitted.

(Needless to say the tournament will not utilize any special stadiums or referee rules).

Team Building:

1,100,000 gold pieces allowance

Grak and Crumbleberry are prohibited, as are Slave Giants. A maximum of two star players may be induced but only after 11 rostered players have been picked as normal.

The only inducements permitted are bribes, halfling master chefs and bloodweiser kegs. (Bribes and halfling master chefs may be induced by anyone at the appropriate cost).

The Old World Alliance are currently not permitted. The Underworld roster will use the pre-July 2020 roster build (i.e. the one with two blitzers and no gutter runner).

Skills package:

A maximum of two skills may be “stacked” onto the same player. This may be any combination of skills and there are no restrictions on the amount of duplicate skills (i.e. you can take 6 block Saurus if you want).

Tier 1:
Tier 1 teams may select 6 “normal” skills.
Wood Elf, Undead, Lizardmen, Dwarf, Orcs, Dark Elf, Norse, Amazon, Necromantic, Skaven, Chaos Dwarves, Brettonians

Tier 2:
Tier 2 teams may select 7 “normal” skills and 1 “double” skill.
Humans, Nurgle, High Elf, Elf Union, Slann, Chaos Pact, Khemri, Chaos, Khorne, Underworld

Tier 3:
Tier 3 teams may select 8 “normal” skills and 2 “double” skills.
Halflings, Ogres, Goblins, Vampires

All teams must be painted with at least 3 colours and be comprised of appropriate fantasy miniatures which reflect the positionals they are intended to represent.

What You Need:

A painted team (minimum 3 colours)
Board and dugout

Templates
2 x printed rosters

Scoring:

2 Points for a win
1 Point for a draw
0 Points for a loss

Tie breaking system will take into account net touchdowns followed by net casualties.

*Any injury that goes into your opponents injury box (even if it's just passing through) counts towards the Most Casualties award. (And also for the tie breaker.)

****PLEASE NOTE**** Getting four games of Blood Bowl into a day is tough going - so please be prompt, and please keep an eye on the clock when playing

Just a note to say that this tournament may still go ahead - subject to government guidelines of course, but this event is not currently cancelled and we will hope to have some normalcy resume in time.

It's apparent that soon gatherings of 20 people will be permitted. This may even increase by the time August comes around. Stay tuned, and feel free to continue declaring your interest!

Just to pick this up again there is a good chance that this tournament WILL be going ahead.

We are looking into the recommencement of our in store play in the near future and just need to work out the social distancing aspects etc.

One thing to bear in mind if you would like to attend there is a high likelyhood that we will have a rule in place wherein face masks MUST be worn during organised play events. So if that's a problem for you, sorry!
