Sanctuary 7s Series - 7th Heaven, Sutton-in-Ashfield, 26/10/2022

Post by Wobert »

RULES PACK
FORMAT
This is a resurrection Blood Bowl 7s event where any injuries in each game will be ignored for the start of the following match. Other than their starting skills (see below) players do not gain skills between rounds and cannot be lured away by the big leagues.

The tournament will be over 3 matches, each one lasting an hour. After 60 minutes, games will be called so both coaches will need to be quick with their turns, we cannot wait for slow coaches!

The schedule will be as follows -

* 6:00pm-6:30pm arrive and register
* 6:30pm-7:30pm Round 1
* 7:30pm-8:30pm Round 2
* 8:30pm-9:30pm Round 3
* 9:30pm-10pm Awards

The first round will be random draw and rounds 2 and 3 swiss.

SCORING
30 points - Win
10 points – Draw
0 points – Lose
1 point – per touchdown scored up to a maximum of 3
1 point – per casualty inflicted up to a maximum of 3
1 point – Keeping a clean sheet by conceding 0 touchdowns

If at the end of the night there is a tie then the tie breakers will be as follows –

* Strength of Schedule
* Touchdown & Casualty difference
* Lowest tier wins

TEAM BUILDING
Coaches have 600k to spend on their team and they must have a minimum of 7 players and a maximum off 11. A maximum of 4 positional players may be purchased, the remainder must be linemen (the player that makes up the 0-12 or 0-16 position). As a further restriction, the maximum you can hire of the same positional is 2. So, for example, a human team may hire 2 Blitzers, not 4.

When your team is complete, you can spend money on backroom staff and inducements. Only the following are available

0-6 Cheerleaders 20k each *
0-3 Assistant coaches 20k each *
Rerolls are double their normal cost (a human team for example would pay 100k for a reroll and not 50k) *
0-1 Apothecary 80k *
0-6 Dedicated Fans 20k each*
0-2 Bloodweiser Kegs 50k
0-3 Bribes 50k/100k depending upon the team
0-1 Plague Doctor / Mortuary Assistant 100k
0-1 Halfling Master Chef 100k/300k depending upon the team

* please note the higher than usual costs when compared to regular BB.

SKILLS
Skills are dictated by the tier that a team is in. We aren't following the GW tiers as they are for the full game and not BB7s. Instead, the tiers below on based upon compiled data of team win rates in BB7s.

Tier 1 – 0 skills . . . . you guys are already good!
Teams - Amazons, Chaos Dwarfs, Dark Elfs, Elf Union, Humans, Lizardmen, Norse, Old World Alliance, Skaven, Slann, Underworld Denizens, Wood Elfs

Tier 2 – 1 primary skill
Teams - Black Orcs, Chaos Chosen, Chaos Renegades, Dwarfs, High Elfs, Imperial Nobility, Khorne, Necromantic Horror, Nurgle, Orcs, Shambling Undead, Tomb Kings, Vampires

Tier 3 – 2 primary skills **
Teams - Goblins, Halflings, Ogres, Snotlings

Coaches may take any skill other than Leader and Pro. Having rerolls is highly discouraged in BB7s as its an amateur game and is a lot more dependent upon the fickle dice.

** Underworld Denizens, Black Orcs or Lizardmen can count as a stunty tier 3 team if they take all stunty players and a big guy. Any strength 3 or 4 players removes their stunty and tier 3 access

SANCTUARY 7s SERIES
This is a series of 6 tournaments across a year. 7th Heaven is tournament number 2. There will be one mid-week tournament roughly every 2 months. Each event will have their own winners as well as an overall series winner.

However, in order to qualify for the Sanctuary Series title, you must follow a few rules. This is basically to stop someone Skaven power gaming themselves to victory tournament after tournament.

You must play teams from at least 2 different tiers

You cannot use the same team more than twice.

For coaches without many teams, the organisers have plenty you can borrow, please get in touch before the event to borrow one.

Your best 4 results overall count towards your series total (but must still be from at least 2 different tiers). This is to allow for coaches who cannot make all of the events or who have a total mare at one of them.

You don’t have to take part in the Sanctuary Series. You can still play all 6 events with Skaven if you wish, but you just won’t earn any ranking points after your first 2 appearances with Skaven.

7th HEAVEN
The theme of each event will be centred around the number 7. Generally, it will give each event a small twist.

Sometimes in a game, players enter a zen like state. They seem to be come one with everything around them. For that player, everything slows down, giving them time to see an infinite of possibilities and to choose the best path. Players that briefly ascend to a higher consciousness or attain a heavenly state during the game can do seemingly impossible things.

To represent this, each coach will be given on entry a D7. They may use that D7 once per half of each game on any dice roll they want where you would normally use a D6. The number cannot be rerolled in any way and it cannot be used as part of a reroll. What you roll sticks.

COST
The cost of each tournament is £7. Of that £5 will cover table hire at the venue and the remaining £2 will be spent on the D7 you'll all be given. Therefore prizes this time are limited to the prize support generously donated by Andrew Goose Keeling from Printed Players.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
Bribe level: good coffee.
