The 5th Coffee Cup, 26th-27th August

Have had a few people ask me if I’m running the Coffee Cup and I hadn’t given it much thought due to its proximity to the World Cup two weeks later.

It’s quite a niche event, so the idea of (understandably, I mean, it’s the World Cup!) losing a few of my regulars means it might be tricky to fill the 20 spots.

However, I’ve had a couple of folks message me, so figured I’d see what the temperature of the (virtual) room is.

If it’s still viable, I’d be happy to put it on, or perhaps pivot to a ‘normal’ two-day event for those of us not jetting off to Alicante.

Just wanted to bump this as I'd really like to take part - is this likely to go ahead or not this year?

If you're worried about people not going because of the WC, maybe using the WC ruleset might help? I know I'd definitely appreciate having an intense pre-tournament practice session with my WC roster!

I'm somewhat assuming this isn't going to happen this year. I'd been trying to keep the weekend clear for this but I may need to commit to activities elsewhere at this point.

Hopefully this event will return in 2024 even if it doesn't take place in 2023. I'd absolutely recommend everyone tries a tournament like this at least once.
