I don't wake up early, but other than that I'd be up for it...I think. I'm going to Chicago this weekend so I need to see if I enjoy it. Not a big fan of tourneys, you may end up playing some real tools, you wake up early, and after you crush them you usually never get to talk shit to them about it...what fun is that?

Here's another thought- would we be able to drink beer at this as-of-yet-hypothetical tourney? I always feel that my game is sub=par when I'm not allowed to consume. Probably not, as it is at a hobby store...

Well, I have permission to go for a Saturday/Sunday tournament. Friday is one of their craziest days at the Fortress, and it wouldn't be worth it for them to clear out their basement on a Friday night.
Why would Fortress need to "clear out their basement" on Friday night? Wouldn't the BB games be during the day?

The basement is where most of their table space is. If you've not been to the Fortress on a Friday night lately, then it's tough to explain. That basement is ALWAYS full of card-floppers, from about noon on, and they're constantly buying stuff from the store, which is why kicking them out on a Friday is so unprofitable.

I gotta keep an eye on the store's bottom line because it's bad business to lose money for the guy in charge of where you play at!

As for date, the RTT package has already been sent for and a date determined;

January 31st - February 1st.

Exact format yet to be determined, but it'll likely be 4-5 games, Swiss style. 100 TR with a skill added to your team after each game.

Prizes TBD depending on what folks are willing to pay. Right now, it looks like the entrance fee will be $20-$25. If I can confirm a larger number of people to show up, the first prize'll be an Ogre team, with something smaller for best painted and best sportsmanship.
