Getting a domain through mercuryvps?

I am thinking about moving our small league from the free thenafobblm.com site to a separate one. I know that mercuryvps hosting comes with installed obblm software but is this the case if I purchase a separate domain through them (as opposed to a free subdomain)? Is there any advantage doing so? Just looking for some advice.

Can't speak for MercuryVPS as I've not used them, but there's no reason that your domain registrar and hosting provider have to be the same company. In fact, some will recommend keeping them separate as it can make switching hosting far easier. You can register a domain with company A and then configure the domain to point to MercuryVPS servers (MercuryVPS should be able to provide all the details required) and it will be entirely transparent to users. Not necessarily recommending that route, but it is an option if MercuryVPS don't do registration.

Thank you! MercuryVPS are offering a domain registration. I'm just not sure if it will come with an obblm installation (I know that their free subdomains come with obblm installed). I don't know if I will be able to install it myself.

I would suggest using Mercury, they're great. You can buy a domain from them for super cheap, and OBBLM comes already installed.

Thanks man! I will buy it from them. Will probably have to figure out how to upgrade it when new upgrades are available :)

Awesome. I'd also recommend not going for the cheapest one, as we managed to use up all out bandwidth pretty much instantly!

I went with the basic package (25 USD). I do not understand anything for now in the control panel of the site :) Tried to change the banner but it does not show.

There's quite a lot to learn, just keep playing around and you'll get it. You can always ask specifics here though. IIRC there's a banner.PNG or something which you can change.
