Java BB
got a few questions...
Has anyone else noticed that occaisonally the match winnings for a game are not added to the treasury, instead replacing the value there?
The handicap table is never used, despite the option being checked in the options dialog! Anyone else seen this?

Actually it does create a new updated roster in the results directory. Is that what you are referring to Indigo? That just happens some of the time or all of the time?javabowl doesn't update team rosters at all
and there is no handicap table implememted for it to use
Grum is right about the handicap table, there isn't one yet. But there also isn't an option for it? Which option are you thinking is for the handicap table?

doh I was being an arse - somehow I read "kickoff table" as "handicap table"
As for the other problem, it seems to have stopped now - it was not adding a match winnings to the existing treasury amount when a game had finished... not too worried anymore as it works fine.
any plans to add the handicap table?

SkiJunkie - I just want to say that your program is great. It really captures the feeling very good, especially with those sounds from the old computer version. I've had many great games with it in FUMBBL by now.
I'm not sure about those new mouse pointers though, they're more confusing than pedagogic to me.
There seems to be graphics missing from my program - the treeman is just a circle. I started with v 5 and upgraded from 5.2 and to 5.4.
Thanks again for some work really well done!

One more thing: I suspect there's a reroll bug somewhere, the dice come up the exact same way as the original roll a bit too often... I really think it's more than bad luck, and discussed it with another FUMBBLE coach who had thought of the same thing.
The same roll, in the same order, shouldn't show up more than say 1/30 or something.

G'day all
Firstly I'm a huge fan of your program > i've got a league going from some rl mates seeing as we're too lazy to drive round these days!
on the re-roll bit I've noticed that happens sometimes but i think it is still randomised pretty well.
One thing i have noticed is that the penalties for a longbomb pass aren't done correctly > ie I've got a rookie orc blitzer needing a 4+. I think it's happened a few times but to be honest i can't remember bout the other passes - will look at next game.
Cheers anyways for a great game!
Oh and its latest version yada yada

I'd just like to add another voice to the "reroll to same result" thing.
I'd noticed...its not a HUGE deal more often, but it seems especially prevalent on 2 dice for blocks.
There are new icons for players available at fumbbl.com. Quilwood did some. Not tried them (next time I pull out my Chaos Halflings we'll see, and I've had trouble with Chaos Dwarfs too)
And while I write - I've found I can't examine the skills of an opposing player who has a lot, specifically on minotaur players. there are slider menus on the player card, but removing the cursor from the opponent in question takes them out of that display.

For the reroll think:
The newest version has added a number indicator for the block dice.
It looks something like this.
- 1 - 3 -
This would be from a 2 dice block. These are the number that come straight off the random number generator. Check the originial and the rerolled number message to see if they match what is being displayed in the dice window. If they do then it is just bad luck.
If they ever do not it is a bug. Email me the log file from the game after you finish and tell me what to look for.
So far, no one has reported to me that they do not match.

In the latest version, when you mouse over a player with a large list of skill you will be able to use the + and - keys to scroll the list up and down.
A rookie orc should need a 4+ for a long pass. This caused some confusion a while back. If you look at the rule book the modifies affect the die roll, not the target. So you will see that the the dice roll and the modifiers are explicitly listed in the message window.
You will see something like this
Target: 4 Roll: 2 - 2lb
" - 2 lb" is for the long bomb.
You would also see other modifiers such as long pass (lp), foul appearance (fa), sunny (sun), etc.

SkiJunkie, well first of all, keep up the good work.SkiJunkie wrote:Actually it does create a new updated roster in the results directory. Is that what you are referring to Indigo? That just happens some of the time or all of the time?
I would suggest you to "FLIP" the Auto-Updating.
Simply UPDATE the Team Roster, and make a COPY of the ORIGINAL Version.
As far as I undestand the thing works the other way round right now; your Team roster doesnt change, but you can "throw it away" and pickup a new, updated one from the results folder.
This has caused some confusion tonight

Either I've just played the most shockinlgy bloodl bloodbowl game in history or something has gone *slightly* awry with injury/armour rolls and the tendancy for SI nd no BH or dead at all.
One piling on player on each team but this seems a little beyond the dice gods having fun lol
THis is what my skaven team received
Serious Injuries:
(#1) Tossin [(46) Smashed Hand - Niggling Injury]
(#2) Hurle [(44) Smashed Hand - Niggling Injury]
(#3) Speedy [(51) Damaged Back - Niggling Injury]
(#4) Swifty [(34) Fractured Arm - Miss next game]
(#5) Rat Klaws [(52) Damaged Back - Niggling Injury]
(#6) Rabbid [(16) Broken Ribs - Miss next game]
(#7) Skurvy [(24) Gouged Eye - Miss next game]
(#8) Plague [(24) Gouged Eye - Miss next game]
(#9) Rancid [(25) Gouged Eye - Miss next game]
(#10) Skurry [(33) Broken Jaw - Miss next game]
(#11) Sniff [(63) Smashed Collar Bone - (-1 ST)]
(#12) Skuttlebum [(46) Smashed Hand - Niggling Injury]
(#13) Squeeky [(54) Smashed Knee - Niggling Injury]
(#14) Rattus [(42) Fractured Leg - Niggling Injury]
(#15) Runnit [(52) Damaged Back - Niggling Injury]
(#16) Leggit [(64) Broken Neck - (-1 AG)]
The Dark Elves were *much* more lucky with
Serious Injuries:
(#5) Venom of Pretta [(22) Groin Sprain - Miss next game]
(#9) Asperon Thorn [(11) Concussion - Miss next game]
(#11) Elijah Doom [(54) Smashed Knee - Niggling Injury]
(#13) Nightstalker [(53) Smashed Knee - Niggling Injury]
And also DE used an Apoth to treat a SI
I've got all the results saved etc but not sure how to post em here
-am happy to email them to you.
And yes btw we've been using pretty much the standard names from javabbowl and 6,10,25 skill rolss and no aging > its a v. small league from some rl friends and i had a mate over so we played on one comp... still EEEK!
cheers in advance
and we've had a gentlemans agreement to go back a version and replay the match btw lol
