Re: Attendance

I was twice at the GT and decided for me that every fanbases tournament is organized better (at my second GT the results where completely messed up after the tourney and it took them 1 week or so to post final results) and cheaper. Comming from Austria the whole weekend did cost me something like 500€+ (flight, train, accomodation, tourney,...). Even without my two little kids right now I would rather spend the money at other tournaments....

In terms of the NAF there seem to me more coaches playing more games pretty much every year since inception.

2008 was 178

don't get confused between NAF coaches and non NAF
only NAF coaches count (its a bit hard to keep a track of the non NAF their not recorded)

There were several other tournaments in the same weekend.
Dirty Player Cup, L.A. Bloodbowl Cup, NSB Dandelion Bowl, Lutece Bowl.
This could have kept the non-britain attendence low.

After refereeing last years event with Mrs Stick (while incredibly ill may I add) we were promised free tickets to this years event as a thank you for our assistance.

I wasnt there this year though as in true GW style they refused to give either of us a ticket, they CLAIM they never offered us a ticket, but there was many conversations over the weekend between the torni organiser and myself/Mrs Stick where this was mentioned, especially to me as the organiser was trying to cheer me up as I was so ill by saying, "dont worry, the free ticket will cheer you up next year".

For the last couple of years I was beginning to get sick of the way GW treat us on a whole and expecially when it comes to the GT, this is why last year I voluntereed, for a few reasons

1 - With my and Mrs Stick reffing, I hoped the rules quries would be much bbetter dealt with, as in correct and friendly

2 - To get an insight in to as why it is so poorly run

3 - It was going to save me £110 over two years as I didnt buy a ticket last year and still got see my mates and I get a free ticket this year :-?

With what has happenned this year with the C&D crap and them kicking me and Mrs Stick in the balls, they can go f**k themselves. I will never return to the GT and will also never spend any money on any of there product, if I need a GW model i will get it off ebay or other gamer.

All wasnt lost though as instead of going to the GT and probably being VERY dissaponited again I played american football and got to smash the s**t out of O-Lineman for 4 hours, it was ALOT more fun :orc: 8)

If that were true, surely moving a player would incur a movement tax every turn and require a transit form signed in triplicate before said player could be moved?

Edit:- Crap, I might have just given GW an idea.....

I plan on attending next years tournament for my first time, as I have only just returned (with a passion) to the game. I was unable to go this year because of work, and only just found out prior to booking time off that it has to be GW models that are used.

I hear what everyone says about fan run tourneys being better, and I can imagine they are because of the love of the game. And I plan on attending a few of these also.

I was speaking with the manager of one of my local stores (shall remain nameless) and he confirmed what Galak said, that all Specialist games are no longer pushed due to cost vs reward, and that WH and 40K are the only products pushed as they are a business and need to make profit (understandable).
Is it really that bad, the customer service that is? Would hate to feel like a second class citizen because I'm a BB fan.

The Southfarthing Pie Baker's. Not only are they great cooks, but also not a bad blood bowl team. Halfling Team's are the way forward.

Gav - that is disgusting. I was going to send the GT organiser a free ticket to the White Isle Star Bowl, but now I won't.

In fact - to make up for your insult and loss, would you be willing to accept a free ticket to the Star Bowl yourself? (I understand there may be an issue with play-offs though). Then, you can loudly mention to any GW employees how much they and their tournaments stink. :D

(Note: I hope other coaches don't mind missing out on a couple of spot prizes/doughnuts to subsidise you.)

Pete, that is a VERY kind offer mate, but on principle I will pay if I can make it, as you said depends how well the team does (won our first game though, so far so good:) ). But REALLY appreciated mate.

If I have a game on Sunday I may well just pop down on the Saturday anyway, you never know
