Duel 2017

Post by sann0638 »

Entering Duel for the 4th or 5th year in a row I think - one day I will win, mwah-ha-ha!

A Dwarf Head Coach "Arguing the Call" with the Ref, clutching his BB2016 rulebook as his Deathroller is sent off after (inevitably) a 2-turn piece of elven shenanigans.

Anyone else got something cooking?

My 4th in a row is mocked up and semi converted. Painting has still to occur ;)

That's the plan Sann.

Was going to use one of J-bone's new slaan catchers. May now involve the kicker instead!

Interesting! I was initially going to use one of J-Bone's Catchers as well, the Catcher Star Player handing off a 5th Ed Ogre as he crossed the line for a touchdown. The figure just lent itself to that dynamic diorama and I ordered an extra one so that it didn't break up the complete team. But due to delivery timescales and another idea popping into my head that concept has been shelved for the future.

So this will be my 4th entry. Each time I have tried to think out of the box and with the introduction of a Head Coach mini (in Death Zone Season 1) an idea started to form that coalesced when I saw the Discworld Lord Havelock Vetinari miniature. Now who was I going to pit against this magnificent figure? It had to be a dynamic pose as Havelock is quite passive and preferably something everybody would recognise. Initially I considered a 5th Ed Ogre crouching over the table but then I saw the Golem in my Necromantic team whilst playing a local club League game and realised it could be converted into the perfect opponent for Havelock:

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

Cool diorama! and scary about both of us coming up with the same "out of the box" concept. Well jealous that you have J-Bone's Frogs as I am still waiting for mine :(

Actually I am amazed that all 3 dioramas so far shared have depicted coaches, curiouser and curiouser!
