Possible BB tournament in Bradford, UK (with free pie!)

Post by radarmaker »

Hey guys,

Myself and some friends were wondering about the feasibility of holding a BloodBowl tournament in Yorkshire this autumn. Our plan would be for the tournament to be held in Bradford over two days in October or early November. However, we need to gauge interest before taking proceedings any further. So, please reply if you'd be interested in a weekend of BloodBowl and curries, in that order (we think).

Of course, we'd be looking at things like getting NAF-sanctioning and truly ostentatious prizes.

Oh, and pie. We'd have pie.

Thanks,
radarmaker.

Deffo up for it and I'd hope to be able to persuade a few of the northern boys (and the mucky mancs round here who think they're northern) to join you.

Will spread the word...

Geoff

Sounds theoretically pretty good. If it's going to be in October I'd watch out for Spikey, as that could damage your possible attendance. But to my knowledge theres nothing happening in November. Have it on the 13th - its my birthday! Pie for birthday. Lovely. :D

Okay guys ... I know the new forum setups and moderators will take some time to adjust to.

This type of thread should be in Discussions (not Postings) as its discussing the possibility of a tournament and not posting a firm tournament with dates.

And in Discussion it has a MUCH better chance to get discussion as all the upcoming tournaments are sticky in Postings.

If this tournament becomes a reality ... make an entry in the posting database ... carry on.

Bear in mind the Eurobowl will be sometime in November and Messers Porritt (sp?) and Horseman will be attending :)

Thanks for registering interest, guys. I think pie is an oft-underrepresented part of BloodBowl life. We're aiming for some kind of tasteful pie-ramid arrangement. (oh dear.)

With regards to the Eurobowl, I haven't been able to locate a date (does one exist yet?) but obviously we'd be trying to avoid any clashes.

At the moment we're considering the 12th and 13th of November. Sprout_man will be pleased...

Regards,
radarmaker.

Sorry to put a spanner in the works.

Nothing's been officially decided dates wise yet for Eurobowl, but that same weekend is favoured for the event. I don't know whether you could do the 26th/27th Nov or 3rd/4th Dec instead?

I'm pushing for the venue and date to be decided at next weekend's Bloodbowl event when the vast majority of the national and international crowd will be there.

Well EuroBowl is only going to draw about 6 English coaches, so a clash isn't going to really to effect numbers. I was going to say I'd definitely be up for this ... but then I remember I don't live near Bradford anymore. :D

I would be delighted with the 13th! Can I get my pie gift wrapped?

If no firm dates have been decided with regards to the Eurobowl then I should point out it'll be a bit crap to change the date for one tournament only to find there's no clash after all... In other words if this is moved for the Eurobowl then the Eurobowl doesn't turn out to be on this weekend then I could understand the organisers not being best pleased. But then again it'd be nice if lucifer and Max could come if they wanted to, as they're both great opponents.

Hey, I just like the idea of playing Blood Bowl on my birthday...

I'd certainly be interested in a Bradford tourney, less distance to travel for us northern types. My burning question, however, is this. Would the pie be a regular everyday pie or would it be a special limited edition commemorative pie?
