GenCon Registration 2005 ... get it done soon

Post by GalakStarscraper »

Pre-registration for GenCon and the Blood Bowl tournament are not required but man are they recommended and pre-registration ends on July 11th ... after that you'll have to get tickets at the door.

So far only 20 of your have re-registered. Get over there and sign up now for event BG00069 .... thanks.

I'm giving Jurgen to everyone who finishes all 5 games and Jervis is coming over for the event as well.

yeah, I guess I better do pre-reg this year, although last year the wait wasn't as bad as I feared. Better not take any chances this time.

yes, definitely pre-reg...particularly if you plan on doing anything at GenCon in addition to the BB. most of the good stuff is already gone.

Not having played an official BB tourney - how long do these go on for and whats the format.

Do we bring along a Rookie team within 1000 spend then how many games etc do we play and are they back to back.

Only ask as I will most likely be there playing (Usually spend hours in and out of role-play and various CCG & Wargames but may also be trading this year (I know bizzarre but I have a gazzillion things to sell and seems a good format since I am there anyway) but am interested in joining in with BB if I can fit it in and get cover! Site doesn't really explain anything as yet! Thanks for any help! 8)

GenCon site should have had a link to the full rules site:

http://www.midgardbb.com/GenCon/GenCon.html

Hmmm ...here is the schedule for the tournament:

FRIDAY
8-9 Register
9-11 Game 1
11-11:30 Break
11:30-1:30 Game 2
1:30-3:30 Lunch
3:30-5:30 Game 3

SATURDAY
8-10 Game 4
10-10:30 Break
10:30-12:30 Game 5
12:30-1:00 Awards

=================================

You bring a 100 TR team, all CAS are removed at end of each game, and no SPPs are earned. Instead you get to give skills to a chosen player at end of each game as described in the rules.

I'd love too see you Margaretthorn. ... if you don't play in the tournament ... please swing by the tournament at some point and put a name to a face. I hope to see you there.

Just a reminder ... the event Number for GenCon is: BG00069 and BG00070

Also for folks that are interested whether playing in the GenCon Bowl or not.

I'm flying JJ over which I know I've said before. He is giving a 1 hour seminar on the future of Specialist Games if anyone wants to attend.

SEM00128 Question and Answer with Jervis Johnson
Jervis Johnson is the head os Specialist Games with Games Workshop in the UK. His first game design was Blood Bowl released in 1987. Since that time, Jervis has had over a dozen games published by Games Workshop with his most recent being Epic: Armageddon in 2004. Take a moment to come hear Jervis discuss the future of the eight games the Specialist Games supports and have an opportunity to ask questions afterwards.

His talk is Thursday from 2 pm to 3 pm.

Thanks for this Galak. Gen Con links are a bit vague at present - usually are until September onwards. I will definately swing by in either case.

If I can fit it in the tourney I will if not will pick up a few casual games eitherway!!! 8)

Just BG00069

IIRC, it would not let me register for BG00070

i don't think it matters...the 2nd one is a $0 cost event, and i didn't sign up for it because it was listed as 15 hours even tho it was 5, so i didn't want the system to think it was conflicting with other events when it really wasn't.

i mentioned that to galak, and he didn't say anything about it, so it must be ok. :)
