It has been mentioned elsewhere that the Canadian Major, The Spike! tournament, will not be held this year. Due to this it has been decided that the 2005 Death Bowl will be granted the increased tournament K value of a major. Now what does that mean. For the immediate time frame, not a lot. At present the proposed NAF ranking changes have not yet been programmed into the system. This means that the K value of a tournament is presently determined by the number of coaches present at the event. For the future though, it will mean that once the system is updated, Death Bowl III will not be subject to the 30 coach limit on K value for non majors. Games played at Death Bowl III will be worth the same as all the other major tournaments.
So essentially, though Death Bowl III has not been titled a "major", it is now the major tournament in Canada for 2005.
