Eurobowl venue
Eurobowl is now confirmed as 12th/13th November 2005 at Boreatton Park, near Shrewsbury (aka "The Manor House").
Travelling information:
The closest airports are Birmingham International (1.5 hours by train to Shrewsbury) and Manchester (2 hours by train to Shrewsbury). From Shrewsbury there is a taxi company (Access Taxis) who will take you to the Boreatton Park for about £9. Their telephone number is +44 (0)1743 360 606, but you will need to mention it is for Boreatton Park. NB: Liverpool Airport is also an option but is longer as it needs an additional taxi from the airport to the local train station (about 3 miles to Hunts Cross or Halewood) and is about 2 to 2.5 hours via train.
Train times:
These can be checked on:

Meals:
Meals are provided for Friday evening, Saturday morning, midday and evening, Sunday morning, midday and evening and Monday morning. If you want biscuits, etc, it is recommended that these are purchased from a supermarket in Shrewbury BEFORE getting the taxi. One of us will have a car, so impromptu shopping trips can be arranged if need be. The cafeteria is behind the gaming halls.
Accommodation:
Accommodation is Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. It is 'Hostel' style accommodation (basic but clean), but there is more than enough so it will be 2 people per room maximum. The accommodation is (literally) upstairs from the gaming. If you wish for a higher level of accommodation (gold taps, butler service, cry-stal champagne glasses, etc) then please let me know - you will have to find and book this yourself though.
Alcohol:
There will be a bar Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings (reasonable prices). This is 5 to 10 mins walk from the accommodation. There is no bar in the Manor House itself, but if you want to bring cans/bottles/etc then this is OK.
Prices:
The cost for the whole package is £75 per person. This includes accommodation, meals, entry and tea/coffee during the day (sorry, alcohol is extra).
As a way of helping administration we would like Team Captains from each country to collect this from their players and enter the team of 8 in one go (i.e. £600). If this is not possible please contact me at gp@enos.ltd.uk as soon as possible and we can arrange. The exchange rate to be used is "as at" the time of entry (i.e. convert enough Euros to Sterling to make £600).
Freebooters/Supporters/Rookie Tryouts:
This year we would also like to offer the chance for other coaches who are not in the Eurobowl itself to be able to attend and join in with the event on a social level. As such individuals may enter at a reduced rate of £70 per person (offering the same facilities as above). These coaches will be known as the "Rookie Tryouts" and there will be a series of informal games scheduled alongside the main Eurobowl event to keep players occupied. These are also great for Nations who want to send 2 (or more) players to play one Bloodbowl team.
In addition, if there are an odd number of Nations, 8 players will be chosen at random from the "Rookie Tryouts" to form a "Rookie Team" to even up the numbers. Also if a Nation suffers last minute dropout(s) they may draft random players from the "Rookie Tryouts" as replacements.

Please enter and pay as soon as possible. Thank you.
EDIT:
(Techically part of Grum's Ruleset, but posted here just for smart arses )
The team who finish highest will have the honour of hosting the following years event. In deciding who is the highest the standard scoring will be used, but the Rookie Team (if present) and the current hosts are not counted.

Re: Eurobowl venue
I personally think that's a very good idea, so that it's impossible to have the Eurobowl in the same country two years in a row.lucifer wrote:EDIT:

Re: Eurobowl venue
Not that there was much chance of that happening, I mean, really..., Team England getting that lucky twice in a row?Aramil wrote:I personally think that's a very good idea, so that it's impossible to have the Eurobowl in the same country two years in a row.lucifer wrote:EDIT:

The Rule with not two times in a row sounds quite good fun to me.
It will also lead to a real way of wandering europe for that style of fun.
Go italia!!!! I want some bunnies at the tourney you can even look at when you are sober.....

Hi there
Would it be possible to get a link to a geographical card over england.
The problem is that we can
a) Travel from Aarhus to stanstead via RYANAIR for 250£(for and then travel further.
b) Travel from Århus to Birmingham via SAS for 1100£(for .
My guess is that the first option will be far cheaper

I would favourise the Standsted Location. There you take a coach-bus. Look here:
http://www.nationalexpress.com/
there is also an option for less taken stations and there is the town where the Eurobowl is in. There is an option to book online, or at the airport there is a bureau of them on the right side before you left the airport.
You can count ca. 70 pounds in total for to and back from the location for one person. And the bus would take around 5 hours additional travel time.
It was quite a ride, but take in mind that alcohol is prohibited in the busses.
