North America Bowl?

Post by CyberHare »

I'm wondering if there is interest in holding a Eurobowl style event in North America. Obviuosly we couldn't do a country based event or we'd only have two teams :P It would have to either be based on teams from states/provinces or even by city. I also don't think we'd be able to have 8 person teams. 5 is probably more likely a good number for us as we are simply a lot more spread out and have a smaller pot to draw from.

So who's interested? Idea's for a name for the event? Where should we hold it? When?

I'll start by saying that I'm interested and I can certanly get a team of 5 together for Quebec. I like "The Americas Cup" but that's kinda already taken  As for where this year it would be interesting if we had all interested parties bid on the event for this year. Sort of like cities bid on the Olympics. After that we could do as the Eurobowl does and give the winning State/Prov first refusal to host the event next year. Time of year is always tricky. We'll need eveyone to sound off as to when they're holding their events and sort it out from there.

Come on lets get this idea off the ground and make it work! Ok so Quebec is a guarunteed win. The rest of you can show up for second place

Good on you guys. I hope it works out. Don't forget that there are people over this side of the pond willing to help out with advice and hints to make it go smoothly.

I would love that... but it will be possible only having the World Cup every two years, with the AmericaBowl and the EuroBowl in the other 2, in order to have only 1 big team competition per year.

With enough advanced notice, I could round up a New Jersey team.

Apples and Oranges I think. It's a matter of reputation, location, and timing as far as I see it. The Chaos Cup has none of the above going for it. Also people would be forming teams ahead of time to go to a NoraBowl. Teams traveling together is much cheaper than individuals trying to get to an event alone.

Hey don't poop on the idea before it gets started eh

I think it'd be best to hold the World Cup every 4 years. This gives the nation hosting it time to prepare, it fits in with nora/euro bowls and more importantly lets people save up the money to travel intercontinental...

Amorical Cup?

keep it simple an Blood Bowl.

And a world Cup might be fun, but all in all you could just make it out of the eurobowl :-)

Get 6 americans in a plain, to the Eurobowl bologna 2006 and it will the World Cup 06 . 8)

Rope in the Australians and Canadians and you might have a plan! I reckon the organisers of the 2006 EB should open up the possibility for that ... I doubt anyone will take up the opportunity, but you never know ...
