Rawne11,

Pretty much all you need as far as rules are concerned is in the above post.

I will put together a proper rules pack in the not too distant future and get it sent out to everyone.

The Monkeybowl system will in actual fact be very similar to the Spiky 2005 rules (big tournie in Reading - www.spikyclub.org go to events > Spiky club open, I think). It might be worth a look in the meantime.

More than happy to try and answer any questions you might have about your team selection / development...

Great stuff - venue is in the centre of town probably a TS26 postcode, will get proper directions for everyone ASAP.

It's right next door to the police station, a stones throw from the town hall and within staggering distance of a range of popular watering holes (inc Bar Paris, King Johns Tavern)

PS: Rawne11- yes big guys are allowed, so are apothecaries

I hope to visit this tournament in 2007 depending on finances and transport (boat) possibilties.

DFDS seaways brings you to Newcastle and I understand Hartlepool is not that far away. I'll keep this one in mind! :D

Great to hear so many people are interested, especially those coming from a bit of a distance i.e. the cockney posse (lowsman, DC, Hangus) and Valen (travelling from Cornwall!?)

Draco, you and any Dutch chums you'd like to bring with you will be more than welcome if Monkeybowl II is a 2007 fixture. What do I mean "if"? Of course it will be!

Monkeybowl rules pack be available very soon...

Yup, used them several times (taking the motorbike round Europe). I can do the centre of Hartlepool to the port in less than 30 mins. LOOK, I WAS LATE OK!!

Ferry leaves 'dam about tea time and docks about 8:30am. Should be able to blag someone into picking you up. Might have to be a Monday evening return though as it leaves port about 4pm.

Sincerest apologies for making that shocking generalisation

Tend to use the word in the loosest possible way i.e. anyone south of Stockton-on-Tees

Guess you must be a kind of adopted cockney with monkeyhanging lineage. I lived in Cambridge for a year and considered myself a cockney for the duration :P

Come on, you've got to come! You'll be able to say to your Dutch pals: "I was at the very first Monkeybowl". Imagine the kudos :D
