Questions About Streetparty

Post by Xtreme »

Hey have a question for anyone that has gone to either of the streetparties. How long does a normal round last? Reading through the threads it appears there was a very relaxed schedule. I'm trying to plan a Streetbowl tournament but don't have that luxury unfortunatly. So if you had to schedule a streetbowl tournament how much time would you allow for a round?

Another question, did you change the rules to 6 turns per half? If so was this to get more games in?

Last summer we played a Beachbowl Tournament, so also a gametype with less rerolls, less players and a smaller field. no game takes longer then 1 h.

At the first party we played 6 turns/round, and I think we also did so at the second (can somebody fill the blanks in my memory please; preferably not with alcohol though...)

I think a game lasted about an hour or so (for me) but some games might have taken 1.5...

And it was great fun both times!!!

[Filling Redfangs mind with water, as to not do any damage./]

Yeah it was 6 turns per half and because there are only 7 players on the pitch per team, a turn does not take too long. A one hour schedule should be enough if the players play for fun and fun ony. That's mainly what streetbowl is about anyway!

(My ogres got creamed by some Vamps!)

One hour games sounds good. Just need to get some streets printed up now.

Any other suggestions or lessons learned from the street parties?

Make sure everybody gets the rules a few days before the tournament so they can read them.

If you want to have an ogre team, bend the rules and give everybody one FF for free or you can't field a team! :o

Make sure the pitches are all the same size. I made one that did not fit on the table where others did! (Obviously mine was not correct! )

I guess that's about it. If the rules don't cover something, you make a ruling and stick to that the entire tournament, even it later on it might not be the right ruling.

HAVE FUN! :D

Last year in Legendz we played 6 games on the firast day and 5 on the second.

And that's with addle-brained players, on too much alcohol, in a relaxed atmosphere. :o :D

yeah, games take 1-1.5 hours.. the quicker the better to be honest.. but 7 players and cobblestones tend to make games very quick..

good luck with the tourney X.. lemme know how it goes..

if you have any rules queries before you start just forward them on to me.. OK??

Will do.
Still in the very early planning stages at this point. Probably start printing some streets soon. Should probably play a few games with 6 turns and see how diffrent that is.
