More Dutch Open pics!
Here are some of my pics from the DO, hope you all like them.
Trav, Draco, and Manuel
Everyone at "Hotel Draco" fltr: Draco, Laraigne, Hellraiser, Mme Draco, Manuel (missing hair??), Traveller and Oliver.
On the train heading out to the DO
Is it an alien invasion?? No (well maybe a German invasion), it's the gang in front of the DO venue.
A couple of Dutch NBAers Duke Jan and Mepmuff
Ramsey (Norse) with Sputnik
My first game was against the Brassbowl champion, Fearless Fleabag and his Dwarves. I also played dwarves and beat him 4-0 in TDs and 5-0 in CAS.
And for those who are skeptical about that claim, here's the proof, ranked number one and playing on table one after the first round!
Some of the first round action
Lucy seems happy to be playing.
The Glittering prizes; the DO champion's trophy on the left and the right is the Dutch champion's trophy (highest finishing Dutch player)
In the background is the special Dutch Open pitch that was available to buy for all participants
Second round on table one against Odious Khan and his beautifully painted Khemri. Lost 2-0 in score and 0-3 in CAS.
Third and last round of day one I played Planlos and his DE team. Pulled out a 2-2 draw but won the CAS battle 2-0.
Geggster and Del (Longfang) going head to head.
Dinner with the Germans (and Draco) in a Chinese restaurant near Legendz on saturday night.
Even though it's not officially called Legendz anymore, the sign is still there.
Some pics of the scene at Legendz on saturday night.
Day two, sunday, I play my host, Draco and his Ogre team that was inappropriately called "No One Can Beat Me!". I beat him 2-0 in TDs but we tied 2-2 in CAS.
The best painted team finalists, voting took place between the first and second games on sunday.
Longfang's Necromatic team took the Best painted award.
Maybe not as well noticed, but the drawing for the NBA legacy team 2005 was also held between the last 2 rounds, draw made by Norse.
And the winner is....Tojorub!!
Last round had me playing another dwarf team coached by Martoni. He was able to pull off a 2-1 win with a late TD, can't remember what the CAS count was.
The final round on table one.
Lucy seems justifably annoyed by Draco.
Yavatol, organiser of the tourney, makes the final awards.
Redfang playing ogres takes most CAS award
Evil Git, Best Sunday comeback!
Grotimuis wins the Dutch Champion trophy (finished fourth)
The overall DO tourney Champion, Panico with the championship trophy, alongside the 2nd and 3rd place winners.

Dan kon ik samen spelen.
