E. Anyone using a bird of prey avatar/name should be penalised for air-bourne dice incidents but losing 30 seconds from each turn (you know who you are )

When we finally found it very good, loads of parking, excellent food, plenty of space. It had a bar and the staff were friendly. Definately one of the more upmarket function rooms I have played in.

I second that.. thought the venue was perfect

And lunch in the sun was a bonus

Nice venue, good buffet (slightly marred by the lack of cutlery for coleslaw etc...) all in all a very nice venue. I liked that we were tucked away, but that the bar wasn't too far away and it was all easily accessible.

SpeedBowl 2013: Harder, Better, Faster, and Stronger.
(No point in starting a new thread, so continued the old one, to keep the mods happy ).


I have recently had confirmation from the venue that I can use them again, but not the same room. A smaller room will be used (boo....), which hopefully means a lower room rent (yey!!....). So 2013 will have a cap on spaces available (I cant see this being a huge problem though) and (hopefully, no confirmation yet) a lower per day ticket price.

That said, how would people feel about a 2 day SpeedBowl event? 10 games over the weekend, 6 on Saturday, 4 on Sunday for an early finish to beat the traffic. I put the feelers to my group and had mostly thumbs up. And I get the same impression from rereading everyone's comments on this thread. Of course a 2 day event will run a slighty higher ticket price, as expected, but means it is more attractive to those travelling from afar.

The basic rules of SpeedBowl would stay the same, IE normal BB but with strict 2 minute timer.

Thoughts TFF'ers? One day again or stretch to two?

June. Ish. Still need to confirm exact dates the venue is available and then spot best free weekend that doesnt clash with other tournies. But aiming for June.

As someone who is traveling a very great distance I am a massive advocate of Two days. Not that it makes any difference I shall be coming anyway whenever you do it where ever you do it.
