Stop talking semantics....

Gazzas Tears are very much the spiritual successors of Howay The Lads in the same way that DTW is clearly a reimagining of Pincock. You might as well try to differentiate the spirit of Flame On teams A, B, and C... very much the same tribe and all equally likely to disband at the first sign of a tournament.

One of two (just two) victories claimed by Gazzas Tears was actually won by Howay The Lads. Thats a bit of a giveaway.

Members and names may have changed but the tribe lives on :)

Mr original point that Gazza's Tears are unbeaten at Team tournaments STILL holds. Your arguement-fu is weak childlike one...

I assume you would also describe the Brutal League of Delux Creamy Friends as "new and unbeaten". What will happen if they have to face off against the Gazzas Tears? Sounds like an unstable force meets unmoveable object situation.

This has gone a bit far now, suck it up, you two, stop squabbling lest someone takes you seriously. ;)

Our round should just be a dance off between you, judged by a panel of YouTube! overnight votes.

Monkeybowl Editorial

All men dream but not equally. Those who dream by night in the dusty recesses of their minds wake in the day to find that all was vanity; but the dreamers of the day are dangerous men, for they may act their dreams with open eyes, and make them possible.
T E Lawrence

So Monkeybowl is finally upon us after months of fervent anticipation and forum chitchat. The latter has reached new levels of spice as tribal fever has taken hold of the United Kingdom.

But when the Masonic curtain is finally raised, when the heroes of Corinth and Sparta look down from their lofty thrones, battle will be done in the spirit that befits this mighty contest. Sporting champions will be forged on these days of blood, sweat and tears.

The victories and vanquishments of Flamebowls past will be resonant in the stout hearts of many. But only those who seize this day will enter the annals of legend. Only the dreamers of the day will prevail!

----

Yet again the cultural diversity of Hartlepool will be matched by the cosmopolitan racial variation on the Blood Bowl pitch. Indeed 21 out of 24 races will be represented at Monkeybowl this year. Is this the most diverse selection of race picks ever?

Faces old and new will meet across 26 inches of coated hardboard. Rumour has it some will even be sporting novelty outfits and brand new club shirts. Local media tycoons at The Hartlepool Mail are on standby for coverage (if the bonnie babies photo shoot falls through).

The punters will be hoping Monkeybowl captures even half of the magic of Nippy’s extraordinarily successful Flamebowl team event. A special good luck to Nippy in fact, who will be competing in his first team tournament as captain of Team Special Tactics.

Let us not forget the individual Monkeybowl winner’s trophy and, hot on the heels of Waterbowl, the internationally coveted Watermonkey award. Several contenders will have their eyes firmly on that shiny, spiky red thing most people refer to as the biggest prize in Northern Blood Bowl.

So all that leaves for me to do is to wish you a safe journey to Hartlepool, best of luck and best of fun at the tournament. See you all very soon!

Yours
Bren

Is the rumour true that as a tribute to the epic event that was Flamebowl 2010, you will be blocking out all natural day light and we will have to play by mobile phone light?

Cant wait
