Orclahoma roster - skaven --- Need advice please

Post by Winged_Human »

Going to take my Skaven to Orclahoma bowl, and I would like some advice on the roster

GR + two heads = 110K
GR + Extra Arms = 110K
Blitzer + claw = 120K
Blitzer + Tackle = 120K
thrower + Accurate = 90K
Lineman + Kick = 70K
6x Linerats = 300K
RR x3 = 180K
FF x1 = 10K

total 1.1Mil

Rules for the tourney:
No +St or +AG, No more than 1 increase per player, No increase may be taken more than twice. Normals+20K, Doubles + 30K, +Ma 30K, +av 30K.

I chose an extra linerat as opposed to an apoth as it guarantees a replacement if anyone gets knocked out of the game. I thought about doing DP instead of Kick, but thought against it.

Thanks in advance.

Ok... Skaven are my favored team and with these rules you can make a great team...

Firstly - you need 4 GR, not 2.. GR's are the backbone of any skaven game and they WILL be targeted so give them skills that will help them survive, having 2 heads and extra arms is ok but what good is it if they are off the field. Also they are AG4 already so dodging and ball pick ups are already better then normal. Have you thought of the "one turn TD"? giving a GR a +1M or sprint means you only need 1 push on the line to score in one turn... you know about chain pushing right? reserves are important, remember - Skaven die a lot! This is a fact of life so don't play the blocking game unless you have to.... Skaven are the quickest team in the game so use all the pitch to spread your opponent and charge your pack of GR's at the ball/ ball carrier to pressure the other side. They know that 1 fumble and the GR's are doing what they do best - turning over the ball and scoring!.

Here is a team build I would use....

GR - Sprint 100k
GR - Block 100k
GR - Wrestle 100k
GR - +1M 110k
Blitzer - Tackle 110k
Blitzer - 90k
Thrower - Leader 90k
Lineman - Kick 70k
Lineman 50k
Lineman 50k
Lineman 50k
Lineman 50k
lineman 50k

RR - 1 60k (+ leader) 2 in total
assistant coach - 1 10k
Chearleader - 1 10k

Total = 1,100.000

I hope this helps? :orc:

The chainpush is something I'm aware of, but I haven't really targeted them or built an offensve line to generate a OTTD... that being said I did consider going with 4 GR as you said, they are fragile and they will get knocked out,

I do like your build though, I think it's light on RR though, but it looks like a solid list... I'll give it some thought

Grey,
this roster seems Much more my play style, but then that also brings up the question, have I been playing Skavens wrong? Should we as skaven coaches Maximize their strength aka speed, against other teams?

Quite a few like the rogre, so maybe:

Rat ogre w/block 180
4 GR (block, wrestle, +MA, rookie) 390
2 SV 180
thrower w/leader 90
3 linos 150k
apo 50k
reroll 60k

1100k, only 11 players, but could be fun?

Kick is a must have!
Your opponent will fear you kicking to the corner (Front or back of the pitch) and charging 4 GR's at it........

Mighty blow on a SV will encourage you to play the blocking game.. DON'T! If you want to cause casualty the use Dwarves.....

I think this is the list I'm gonna go with. I agree with your sentiment on putting MB on a SV. I don't want to play the bash game, I want to play the "Score more than your opponent and win" game.

I'll update the thread after the tourney this coming weekend.

Thanks for the help mate.

If your opponent limits you to just the blitz every turn, surely you want to make it count as much as you can. Against AV8 MB gives you an extra 14% chance of breaking their armour, giving yout gutter runners more room to do their stuff.

The roster looks good, and you can stack skills. Unless you're matched against dwarves or chaos dwarves, there's not going to be much tackle floating around, so dodge on both blitzers looks good to me. Block & claw on the rat ogre could be good too. I think the guard linemen are just going to get flattened, maybe horns and 2 heads for a gutter runner could work too.

I gave the ROgre the chaos pack which added Horns and Juggernaut to him. So as long as I can keep from rolling 1's on WA he should be a beast.
