How to use Score

Based on this discussion and stuff on the NAF forum, there is substantial information on thenaf.net about how to use Score.

http://www.thenaf.net/tournaments/runni ... ent/score/

This was originally on a wiki, but moved to the NAF site, so there may be some mentions of the wiki over the next few pages.

There is now a link to an updated Zip containing Khorne and Bretonnians.

I've added a bit about Customising the Results file, as anyone with a tournament website might want to make a nice version of their results: http://bloodbowlscore.wikispaces.com/customisation

This explains how to make something like this: http://nafnewsletter.com/1307nafc/NAFCresults.htm

Any chance of saving the excel results file (linked to in the NAFC results page) without macros please? CloudOn doesn't like it (free app for Office 2010 for iPad)

Interesting, no macros in it. Made on open office, but it did have a Pivot Table in it. Try it now.

Still the same :-(

Looks like I'll need to access from home. No worries, and thanks for taking a look!

Cant post comments on the wiki page itself... The link provided on this page (the one labelled "this page") leads to 404, which I understand is very popular but not what you advertised....

No idea why not! Will have a look at the link, and see if I can do something about the comments.

No, I knew why the 404 was failing! Fixed now. People should be able to request wiki membership now too.

Update the "uploading" bit with thanks to Lunchmoney: http://bloodbowlscore.wikispaces.com/uploading

Where it says,
"Type in the usernames or membership numbers of the coaches you want to add:"

Do you have to do this? Is this "add to the NAF site" or "add to tournament"?

Nope, you can ignore that part if using the Score! XML file.

And the finalise, "refresh", button is done by the NAF guys, not the TO. AS written it sounds like the TO has to hit that button, but he can't :)

EDIT: I've edited the page a little :)

Things I've found:

If you're running a team event (like I am), you can't use Score in exactly the same way as you would for a normal singles tournament.

In a normal event, if you've pre-input coaches details, and someone no-shows for whatever reason, you just set their "Active" to No, and Score takes care of the rest.
This doesn't work if you're using Teams.
I've found that even if you set a Team/player to NO, it still tries to include them in the draw, which will screw it up. You can't even remove the team, as that doesn't work either. Best I've found is that you leave the team in, make sure it's set to "No", and manually change the draw if needed.
Also, make sure you have the same number of players in each team, at least if you're doing a team vs team event, as if it's different that will screw it up to. I've not tried it as a way of keeping club-mates apart in round 1, so not sure if that works or not.

If people use Score for their tournaments, they can now send me their final results file and I'll pop it on the NAF site. My username @hotmail.com

Would it not make sense to have hosted this on the NAF site?
