Dungeonbowl final

Post by sann0638 »

Very quick one - someone said on the big thread that the Dungeonbowl final is a game of Dungeonbowl rather than vanilla Blood Bowl. Is this true?

For the two teams competing for 1st place, yes.
I was lucky to go this year ..and very far from the top table! :P but the top table game was dungeonbowl, everyone else's game is standard blood bowl.

The top table final was Wood Elf vs Wood Elf and had some crazy play that secured the win, I only got to see a bit of it, but a re-roll seemed to make the difference.

Anyway, the dungeonbowl game, set up and all, looked really cool.

PI is exactly right, every year the top two placed teams after round 5 compete for the title in the Dungeon in Round 6.

It certainly is, and I've had the pleasure to play in it against our very own President Lycos. Pretty sure it is just the GW rules, but there was a lot of agreeing between the two coaches before the game. Certain things we just decided for ourselves.

Dungeonbowl final

Post by Oventa »

Some topics in rules are ambiguous or to complex for quick explanation for two guys who probably never played dungeonbowl before, so that is why some negotiations take place guided by the tournament organiser who has seen the last 10 finals.
Examples where players may choose in the final are:
Bring in players at begin of the turn or end of the turn
Can you blitz with a player you bring in?
How to handle pushes against the wall?
Do you really want dungeon bowl pass rules or default pass rules?
How to handle lava? Fully dead?
How to handle passing diagonally around corners?
As it is a custom board some fields are only half there, so which are valid fields and which are lava?
Things like that.

Its weird that they call it Dungeon bowl and there is only one game of dungeon bowl of the entire tournament?!

In the dungeon bowl tournament my league runs we used dungeon bowl rules in every game
