Discuss Fantasy football-style board games - GW's Blood Bowl, Impact!'s Elfball, Privateer Press' Grind, Heresy's Deathball, etc. THIS IS NOT AN NFL FANTASY FOOTBALL SITE!

NAF Approval Guidelines wrote: Pre-tournament requirements #1 - The tournament must also be open to any individual applying/paying in time until all places are occupied. Therefore, invitational tournaments (where the attending players are chosen by the TO) are ineligible for sanctioning. The one exception to this rule concerns national or state representative tournaments (see point 4 below).
Pre-tournament requirements #4 - Tournaments where teams are selected to represent nations are eligible for approval, even when the selection aspect of the tournament restricts participation. This is only if two conditions are met. First – the national selection procedure must be discussed and a broad consensus reached amongst the community within each nation (via e.g. NAF or other forums). Second – the tournament must fundamentally be open to all e.g. via the inclusion of a fully open individual tournament alongside the selection-based event. Team tournaments where states or provinces are selected representatively are also permitted, provided the same conditions are met.
We fall down on quite a few of those points.
And I don’t think we would have met the 8 week minimum notice period either.
It just goes to show that a tournament does not have to be sanctioned (with yummy naf points) to still be incredibly fun. Already looking forward to next year and maybe something other than a 1-1 draw result for me.

The games were played in a friendly relaxed environment and the banter was great. The idea was it to be competitive but fun and that was achieved.
