Tournament pitch-clears

Post by Sandwich »

Question for the masses, not sure if its ever come up.

If there's a pitch clearance in a game and a coach can't field any players for a drive, what happens in a tournament game?

The rules state that the other team gets a free TD, the clock moves on 2 turns, and you roll for KOs etc again - is this the procedure to follow for NAF tournament games as well? Or does the team line up players against an empty pitch and hope they can pick up the ball?

I would always just apply the rules from the book as you noted (TD, move turn counter, have another go at KO rolls, rinse/repeat), if need be. Of course most of the time, by the time a pitch clear has happened it is the last drive of the match, so not really an issue.

The one time a quick clear happened at one of my tourneys (Necro vs Skaven, turn 4 and no Skaven left) I made them apply the rules and carry on (and suggested the Necro player buy the Skaven player a pint ;) ). And I would advise the same for anyone if happens again at one of my tourneys.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.
