Is their any interest in a 24 hour event where you play 8 or 9 games but each game with a different team?

Working on the details with a venue but before we get down to the nitty gritty i want to gauge interest.

The rough idea is this

8 or 9 games in 24 hours once timings have been worked out
Each game you will play with a different race
Teams will be allocated on check in by random draw.
Players then have 30 mins to create a team and complete two rosters. One to go with the team and one to be handed into the TO
Once round 1 is drawn you can allocate a single skill to a player
At the end of each round teams are returned to the TO's area.
Once all teams are back the next round will be revealed.
Players collect their teams and can allocate another normal skill. No staking is allowed.
At rounds X,X and X doubles can be allocated.

Food will be provided over the event along with free teas and coffees + other hot drinks. Soft drinks will be avalible at a small fee.
Alcohol depending on venue rules.
Drink costs and food details will be published well in advance

I seem to recall discussing this concept before....

Would everyone need to bring several teams? Just to make sure all of them are covered?

I would be very interested in a tourney that involved playing multiple different races.

Not so keen on the making of rosters immediately before each match though. Perhaps having them prepared in advance somehow? Especially considering this is a 24hr tourney and mistakes will be made, and missed.

Or do i misunderstand, and each team stays the same team for the entire tourney but with 1 added skill each round and the next coach has to use what was created before?

Once the roster is made before game 1 it stays the same. Each coach gets to add a skill to it each round.
I thought it best to let this be done once your opponent was know.

I'd hope to be able to provide enough teams from my own collection or from plays willing to let others use their teams.

I'd not expect anyone to let me or Someone else use their super painted team after 20 hours of gaming but that old team that's not been used for years and has a bad chipped paint job might be ok for others to use.

I like the idea, given my limited availability I would probably not be able to make it without a reasonable lead in time.

I was talking about something similar with Cornish. Our thinking was 24 teams and so ideally 24 players. In round 1 its a random draw on the team you get. From round 2 onwards teams are chosen in a draft style process and no team may be used by the same coach more than once. For round 2 the 2 coaches ranked 23rd and 24th then each secretly select a team (if they pick the same one they have to pick again and are not allowed to choose that team). Then the 2 coaches ranked 21st and 22nd go next and choose from what's left over etc etc.

The coaches don't choose a roster, they are set. Each round the coaches add one skill to the roster they have (or more depending upon the number of rounds played) and that skill stays with the team for the entire tournament so teams are built up bit by bit by multiple people.

If you did this for a 24 hour event I would be inclined to have teams that start with all the required skills and lose 1 or 2 each round to help the poor befuddled fools playing.

This sounds familiar. There are crazy people this community that apparently think alike.

I'd hesitantly say that I was interested, depending on dates, etc.
