I’d like to see the top lists at the NAFC and EuroBowl. There must be pretty standard lists for the top tiers at the top tables, just wonder what sort of thing they include.

Joemanji would be able to provide the English rosters from EB.

But on a related note, I'd say that it's important to pick teams and skills that suit the way you play.

Lizards are a great example. Some like 2 break tackle and to play a reactive game. Others like some tackle or just all block and try to force the issue by limiting opponents' options.

Both are good and valid - but trying to play with a roster that doesn't match what you want to do with the team will lead to sub-par results.

For me, with dwarfs I take one slayer, which some people raise there eyebrows at. But for me slayers are liabilities in that they do not fulfil the key dwarf roles of blocking reliably and having AV9. So just one slayer as a sweeper suits my play style. It also allows an Apo, which further complements the strengths of how I like to play the team.

Totally agree with you. I like play with orc thrower as a ball carrier.

I see this post more like a suggestion, and could be useful for newbies or to give ideas to veterans. For example, I have never played with X team in tournament, I can copy o do a similar team. Or, maybe, someone is playing with some skill sets and don't realize that other could be a good combination. Again, I like to play with Human thrower with dump off, and that's not very usual.

I want to see your Norse roster(s). I'm looking at playing Norse a lot from now until the NAFC, so some guidance from the pros would be handy. At the moment, I'm taking Blodge runners, Block Ulfs, no thrower and a Mighty Blow Yhetee.

In other news, I challenged the parking ticket I got whilst we were at Gert, and won!

I can (see below). However I would like to stress quite strongly that roster selection plays a much less important role than netlisting does for other games (e.g. Warhammer, MtG, Hearthstone). Roster and skill selections have become quite homogenous and I'd be tempted to say as much as 99% of a game's result is decided by a combination of coaching decisions and dice rolls. A good coach always looks for that extra 1%, so this endeavour isn't without merit. But if anyone thinks they can just copy a roster from this thread (out of context of the tournament rules no less) and start winning they may be disappointed.

So with that out of the way, Eurobowl 2017 was a 1.1m event with 6 normal skills up front. Tier 2 teams, of which England only took Necro, got an extra 20K to spend and an additional doubles skill up front. England took:

Eurobowl - Winners - Norse - 1100TV - Don Vito
1 x Snow Troll (Mighty Blow)
2 x Ulfwereners (2x Block)
1 x Thrower (Leader)
1 x Runner (Dodge)
8 x Linemen (1x Tackle)
2 x re-rolls
1 x Apothecary
1 x Fan Factor

Eurobowl - Winners - Amazons - 1100TV - Geggster
4 x Blitzers (4 x Guard)
1 x Catcher
9 x Linemen (2 x Wrestle)
3 x re-rolls
1 x Apothecary
2 x Fan Factor

Eurobowl - Winners - Wood Elves - 1100TV - Jimjimany
2 x Wardancers (Strip Ball, Tackle)
3 x Catchers (1 x Block)
1 x Thrower (Leader)
5 x Linemen (2 x Wrestle)
2 x re-rolls
1 x Apothecary

Eurobowl - Winners - Undead - 1100TV - Joemanji
2 x Mummy (1x Guard)
2 x Wight (Guard, Tackle)
4 x Ghoul (2 x Block, 1 x Wrestle)
3 x Zombies
1 x Skeleton
3 x re-rolls
1 x Fan Factor
1 x Coach
1 x Cheerleader

Eurobowl - Winners - Necromantic - 1110TV - Lycos
2 x Flesh Golem (Block, Guard)
2 x Werewolf (Block, Mighty Blow)
2 x Wight (Guard, Tackle)
2 x Ghoul (1 x Block)
3 x Zombie
3 x re-rolls
1 x Fan Factor

Eurobowl - Winners - Dark Elves - 1100TV - mubo
3 x Blitzer (3 x Dodge)
2 x Witch Elf (Wrestle, Block)
1 x Runner (Leader)
5 x Lineman
2 x re-rolls
1 x Apothecary

Eurobowl - Winners - Dwarfs - 1100TV - Nippy Longskar
2 x Blitzer (2 x Guard)
2 x Runner
1 x Troll Slayer
7 x Linemen (3 x Guard, 1 x Mighty Blow)
3 x re-rolls
1 x Apothecary

Eurobowl - Winners - Lizardmen - 1100TV - Purplegoo
1 x Kroxigor
6 x Saurus (4 x Block, 2 x Break Tackle)
4 x Skink
3 x re-roll
1 x Apothecary
1 x Fan Factor

Massive +1 to this comment from Joe:

Two coaches can use the same roster and appear at different ends of the results on a sunday.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

And even the same coach can take the same roster and have wildly different results. For example Lycos used the exact same roster at EB16 and EB17, once finishing top for England with 5/1/0 and once bottom with 1/2/3.

Yeah, I deleted the word 'netlisting' from my original draft of a post on here because I get what you mean. 40k netlisting is the reason my 40k stuff is currently gathering dust. Like Dreamscreator says though, my take on it is from a relatively ignorant angle, I've only played a few races, so just wanted to see if there were any 'obvious' auto-includes - before deciding whether to ignore them or not with my own build/s!

Useful intel though, if you (or anyone else, seeing as these are all winning rosters in this thread, presumably!) have got anything else for newer coaches, or those looking to improve, feel free to add your input here. There's been some really useful stuff on there, so far.

I agree with you. It doesn't exist the perfect roster as every coach play in one way and this is a game where the luck has an important role.

As I said my idea is more for newbies and people who has played a couple of years and want to try new races and has no clue. Only to give ideas, from there they can start to create his own perfect roster. I start playing goblins with the basic roster, and now you never will see me playing with B&C, but always with two chainsaw. It's my way and it's working for me.

And to be honest. The curiosity to know the roster that won a tournament is a good point too.

Really interesting seeing the Team England Eurobowl rosters. I never would have thought to take a single Troll Slayer Dwarf build, but I played a practice game against Nippy before the EB and it's really solid. Also interesting to see Don Vito's Norse roster, without any Berserkers. I know there are various different Norse builds at TV1100, as you can never quite get everything you want.

Only Tournament I've won was Pornbowl II, TV 1200 with 48 spp to spend on skills.

Pornbowl II 2016 - Amazons TV 1200
4 Blitzers (4 x guard)
6 Linewomen (3 x Block, 1 x Wrestle)
1 Catcher
Zara the Slayer
3 RR
Apo

I only won because my team of 9 blodgers got extremely lucky and only faced one Tackle player all weekend, who we promptly murdered on about turn 2.

Yeah it allows the 12 player + APO roster which is much more solid overall.

Interesting! I was under the impression 1 Troll Slayer was *template* and other choices "madness".

Thanks for posting the list, Joe, I wasn`t aware Jim actually plays WEs with no Treeman. Clearly one for debate!
