Mo'Bowl NW tourine - Any interest?

Post by shaniepoo »

Been a while since I posted on here. I'm looking to run another tournament in the NW England (Lancaster) and am just looking to see what interest there would be. In the past I've run the Pornbowl but last time I did it as a charity event for Movemeber and will be looking to do it again, thus the name change to Mo'bowl. As it's for Movember it would be held at the end of November 2019 with all proceeds going to the charity.

Just looking to see what the interest would be as I will need to find a cheep venue.

TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

I would certainly be there whenever it was, happy to be the spare player if you want to take part yourself., played in a tournament at the weekend that had half a dozen BB's from Carlisle so might be able to persuade some of those to attend.

No 2019 (next year). I'm not finishing my degree until this September so not really got the time to spare at the moment. Plus the normal venue I've used for the last 4 tournaments I've run has changed management and I've been told they are not as nice as the old management (Got a great room price as they knew me and I was ex-staff member). They will be looking to charge me £15-20 an hr and the room rent will be coming out of my back pocket. I know it's super early but I will need the time as I've now got a kid as well. lol

That's good to hear about the new players. I know the Lancaster gaming club have a new venue and so are back up and running so might be able to get them on-board and maybe even use the venue (providing they will open early enough) as they are not being charged for the room they are in.

Venue found that would give free room hire and is open for breakfast from 8am. Would mean that there's a cap of about 18-20 people though.
