Cool Mini or Not Annual

Post by Xtreme »

Has anyone bought one? Just wondering if it was worth the money there aren't to many left and I still can't decide if I want to buy it or not.

Well depends ...

Traveller bought it, i took a look at it at the Spiel '03 Con and did not buy it (for 55 Euros!!!).

It's a great book, tons of good pictures of awesome models. But the price ... i don't know. I would have bought it for 20 Euros, maybe 30, but the strange shipping costs make it almost 50 Euros here, bit too much for my taste.

As Tim wrote, i bought this picture book. And I agree, its quite expensive. But i knew, some years later i will stumble over this book at ebay, will like to get a copy and have to bid a higher price than now ...

But i like this book and added it to my collection of the old GW Fantasy Miniatures Books...

BTW... the newest WD issue includes a small 25 pages (!) booklet of picts of the GD2003 UK entries .... :o ... those diorama or duell entries :o :o

Some of the stuff in the Golden daemon booklet is fantastic...especially the slayer sword winning regiment and the Aragorn. My favourite is probably the Sanguinius though.

Don't know how the 40k regiment won their award...they look nice and the painting plus converting is top notch...but THEY HAVE NO LEGS.

So CMON earns money by selling a book with mini's? Do the mini painters get some of that money or what?
I like earning easy money ;)

Nope, but there'll probably be some sort of small print somehwere on the site. I don't know if I'm actually in the book, mind. Just whining a bit ;)

yep, thats true and i dont like it, too. But still the minis are fantastic painted and got a lot of details.
My favourite is probably the Sanguinius though
Thats really the best single mini i saw a long , long time. Just wondering, why this mini didnt win the GDsword ? The winning WH Regiment is great, too, but if you see all those paintings on the coat of Sanguinius... :o
Maybe i will take a pict tonight to show the people here what we are talking about

IIRC sanguinus was a conversion of one of the Necron C'Tan models (Nightbringer???)

it looks great. I personally don't like the sword winning entry though - there are too many metallics on the models, and it's easy to make metallics look good.

argh... more stuff to carry. I´m travelling with two metall suitcases already... (one for my team, one for the SBpitch). Ok , i will leave clothings for changing, deo, toothbrush at home... you have to set priorities !

BTW... got a whole SpaceWolves Army at home, too. ( Painted !!! ) I just dont knew how many points worth ?! I just was told ... enough for a big battle !

Here you can find a pict of the Sanguinius.... but the picts in the booklet are much better.
