If you cannot stall out for an 8 turn drive to score with dwarves then you need to go and play canasta with your dad..if you can find him.

I actually wrote the basic set of rules for an ice hockey game before I turned my attention to what became Impact City Roller Derby. I'm a huge hockey fan and just wanted to make the miniatures. We'll see from there, but nothing imminent.

Very cool, but as someone wise once wrote (can't remember who) - "when making new minis, ask yourself, can they be used for BB?"

Just my tuppence-worth.

Ah yes, but see I believe in diversification. The roller derby minis when we made them had no associated game, yet in just over a year they've sold well enough to outpace any fantasy football miniatures we made in the last two years. The fantasy football marketplace is saturated.

Great to bring hockey to all the english dudes on this forum! :) They have yet to fall for the fastest and most suspense sport in the world. Yet they have some dudes stroling the ice in a barn nere them. :) I'm gonna buy these whatever what. Yet Brigade Games have three teams allready made: http://www.brigadegames.com/Fantasy-Hockey_c_57.html

I'm afraid that used to be true. Now a days there are so many people making fantasy football miniatures ... that it is actually become more important to make something that isn't FF related to stay in business than it is to make something FF related.

No mistake ... we still have FF figures in the works ... its just that when we make figures now ... we don't worry anymore about if they have an FF conversion ability.

Chris is right. We've sold more roller derby team minis than ANYONE's FF figures in the last year.

If the market ever thins back out this could be true again. But right now the pie is sliced way thin.

True ... but none of those are "real" hockey players like we wanted to make.

Are they compatible with the lonely Hockey Player #1?

Honestly, no. They're relatively the same scale, but these were made to be realistic (with a through-back goalie because I like it better) where Player #1 has a futuristic tilt. But, if these sell well enough we'll be making more.

A couple of days thinking about it is cooler with all-human teams in a hockey game. I sure hope more models will be made available so there aint just one goalie model. Maybe exchangable heads/helmets could be one idea. Make a hockey game for the ages! Cool, cool, cool. :D
