Here is my entry for 2015's P3 Grandmasters (the Privateer Press painting competition held each year).
Overall, I was rather pleased with how she turned out. I felt that the green added something different that the character wouldn't have if she were painted any other way.
She nearly wasn't completed in time for Gencon. I had actually planned ahead quite well, and would have had her finished handily, except that I got sick enough to stop working on her for almost six weeks in a row (just one minor sickness followed by another).
In the end, I'm very glad I stuck with her, and I'm quite pleased with how she turned out. She received a gold.
For those who care to vote, I've posted her up to CMON.

And she deserved it!odinsgrandson wrote:She received a gold.
Great job!
But then, I've never seen any paint job from you I didn't like.
Remember your High Elves?
I'm still trying hard to copy this color scheme!
And fail badly every time...

Re: Helga the Conqueror (P3 Grandmasters entry)
Thanks.
I really want to find an old Nagash sometime and see if I can make that disaster of a sculpt look good.
Oh, and the wood elves color scheme is as follows- mostly P3 colors:
Green starts as traitor green, shade with Sanguine base, and highlight with frostbite. The red shading increases the contrast without going dull, and the blue highlight is a nice go-to for areas that you don't want jumping out too much.
Brown starts at Umbral Umber, then layers up first to Bloodstone, and last to Rucksack tan (I might have added a little frostbite here as well- it would help to unify the piece).
"White" areas are based in Cryx Bane highlight, and layered up to Frostbite- nothing higher.
Does that help?

It sure would if my brush-skills weren't that bad!odinsgrandson wrote:Does that help?
Unfortunately, I had some misfortune and now I don't have time to paint.
But I noted that down and I sure will find matching Vallejo colors, because I use those.
Really, never seen any High Elves I liked that much.
