I'd started a rough draft (extremely rough!) based on a D12, and then forgot to save it...
Worst of all, I'd been thinking about it at work, typed it in the evening from memory, and now I get remember what I'd done, and to who (damn crappy memory! )

As others had said, I honestly believe the chance of GW bringing out a more complex edition of GW is zero. The money for GW (or at least the way their buisiness plan sees it) is in the kids, not in us grizzled gamers that bemoan the simplification of the hobby. I had thought/hoped that the Specialist games would be immune from this syndrome, seeing as they were aimed at the more mature gamer, but I guess I was wrong.

BB 2020 style - each coaches rolls a D6, +1 if you've lost more than your opponent, highest roll wins, re-roll ties.
Oh joy, what fun(!)

Well Darkson if you have a problem with the +1 for losing more than your opponent you can either house rule it or develop some cards or something.

Oh no, the +1 if you've lost more is vital for long term growth and balance, and also it'sfairer for all coaches in the long run.

You're just resistant to any change, and you can't see how this is a much better ruleset, and quicker to print to!

I'd be pretty interested in a version which used something other than d6s, or in fact any version which could allow a wider range of play than we have now.

Not exactly convinced by hexes, mind, I don't see the advantage.

I have been throwing around some ideas in my head for a "Expert Edition Blood Bowl" which basically combines rules from 2ed and 3ed to make a bit more complex game. Basically the same attributes as 2ed (not necessarily the exact same values as 2ed, though I liked that ST went up to 8 instead of 6 like in 3ed), a bit of alternating play (though not sure how to work this exactly, was thinking of off line, then def line, off backfield, def backfield, not sure if that would work). keeping many of the skills the way they work now but have skills listed for position category with 10-12 skills in each category (would also have to have seperate BG and stunty skill lists). This grew out of an attempt to do an actual TT minatures game version of BB (ie with measuring movement, etc, not like the board game with square movement), even did up a to scale BB field (based on an actual gridiron football field....the scale of the BB pitch would actually be about the size of an arena football pitch).
Anyway, I doubt many others will be interested, but I think BB has been simplified enough from 2ed to 3ed and 3ed to LRB, it doesn't need any more simplification from LRB to the Vault (official final version). Too much simplification doesn't make it a better game, I'd prefer if it got a little more complex, but I know that will never happen. Oh well, I guess I can just work a little more on my own "Expert edition" and play it amongst friends.

Job's more profitable (depending on what you do I guess), but not as fun as a summer project (of course nothing stopping you from doing both)

I also liked when movement was split between MA and Sprint, but maybe that's just me. It might be interesting to bring back the old MA and SP numbers and change the way blitzes are done to see how more tactically interesting the game would become. My idea would be that normal MA could be used for anything that costs MA points (which would include throwing a block but only one allowed per person per action) and Sprint points can only be used to run, no dodging, leaping, etc allowed and only then after SP is used can you GFI. As you could thrrow a block during normal movement (for a cost of 1 MA), blitz would have to be changed to more of an Heroic Tackle, where one person per team turn could save doing a block during his turn until after he's used all of his MA, SP and GFI's (if so wished). Of course this might work better with alternating turns for each player (ie offense moves one player, defense moves one player, alternating until all done). Would make for a different, but possible more interesting game.

Instead of one player I would like to see coaches limited to a certain number of actions. 1 pass, 1 blitz, 2 or 3 moves, etc.
Not sure of the breakdown just the concept.

Alternately it could be a sort of zone thing. Like soccer, hockey or any other field sport. Certain players can only be in certain zones.

One thing i'd like to see would be to have teams split into offensive and defensive lineups, NFL style.

It could be a good way to widen the teams' diversity, and could create some nice fluff elements inside leagues.

Of course, it wouldn't work with the flow of play we have right now, but since people are talking about that anyway I think it's worth a look.

Perhaps each team could have 3 drives each on attack, which lasted for a set number (6?) of turns or until a TD was scored (whichever is less). The defense could still score on their opponents drive, of course.

Would certainly be different at least. Think I'll go work on some rules...

Forget the turn track!

Forget everything you know and just spew out whatever!

I would love to do a real redesign on Blood Bowl!

If you want a redesign, then base all AG-values and actions on 2D6 rather than 1D6. Just let players do AG-checks for AG actions.

Elvish throwers and catchers would start with AG 9 (which would resemble AG 4 of the current system, all other elves and throwers/catchers would start with 8, ordinary linemen with AG 7, AG 6 or less for the rest.
