Special Positions for team, why are there no Orc Catchers?

Got a great idea and/or proposal for BloodBowl?

Special Positions for team, why are there no Orc Catchers?

Special Positions for team, why are there no Orc Catchers?
There must be humans who are big enough to be blockers?
in the old 2nd edition there where these players.

I'm not talking of an extra players!, maybe humans could exchange some of there Blitzer slot with blockers, so there still are a maximum of 4 blockers and blitzers.

Orcs could exchange there Blitzers witn an Orc Catcher/Runner type.
These special players should not be super players, a Human blocker should not be as good as an Black orc blocker.
Gives a quality and lacks quality in all other departments. and cost alot
gives more diversity to the game/teams/tactics.

Orc Catcher:
MV7 ST2 AG3 AV8 - Catch - General skills (NO AGILITY SKILLS)
With Orc runner exchange catch with Dodge.
Price: 90000 GCs

Human Blocker:
MV5 ST3 AG2 AV9 - Block, Stand Firm - General and Strength skills
Price: 90000 GCs

Yes the orc Catcher/runner can not get Agility skills and have ST2
Yes the Human Blocker have only ST3 but begins with a Trait.
But yes maybe the Human Blocker could be better, any sugjestions?

Some players think they could be fun to have, other think they are a wast of money, what do you think?

I see a problem in linking the position to Warhammer fantasy Battle.
Why could High elf not just have been called blitzers, throwers and so on??

I generaly think that more position for all the teams would be great, gives more choise and diversity for players, and make more unique teams for each player. I'm in for an exchange system. I don't like teams only of Special positions and non or few linemen.

I like Humans, but i think they need some Rough Linemen to put on the line of scrimage.

Generaly i would see some more types for all teams. I'm not just fancying my favorit teams, i just only have those in my mind when finding new "positions".

A blitzer type staring with Strip ball would be fun for some teams.

Orc Catcher = Goblin (the team gets 4)

Human Blocker = Ogre or freeboot Zug.

Those options as the rules stand are good enough for me. The teams do not need more than 10 positional players (Orcs being the one exception if you count the Gobbos).

Galak: I am not quite happy with the Goblins in an Orc team. Is there anything spoken about putting them out of the teamlist again ?

I won't mind too much if Catchers would be added to the Orcs as long the total position player number won't be higher than 10. Same to humans.

The stand firm is a bit hefty for the Human blocker as I see it. Maybe a combo of Block and Tackle would be enough hmmm ?

I've said this before, and I say it again:

Human blockers are not something that can gain a skill after 6SPP's. They are linemen who have risen above their peers and are now called blockers because they already have a skill or two. There just is no way of getting human blockers to a rookie team.

In theory I like these but with a little tinkering perhaps.

The orc catcher seems pretty useless, he is only one square quicker tahn a goblin, and +1 AV, yet he can't have agility skills, which most are essential for receivers. Plus the gobbos have the added advantage of being able to be lobbed downfield by the hulking ogre.

The human blocker should sart with a ST 4 but no stand firm, I agree this is too hefty, but having a rookie blocker with less than a st 4 is not right.

What do you think?
