New skill: Mech Eye/Perfect Spin

Post by plasmoid »

I'm not really sure whether this should be a passing skill or a physical ability. While it _is_ about passing, it is no doubt weaker than both accurate and strong arm, meaning that it would never be 1st pick.
Then again, the fact that strong arm is now a trait makes it a bit more appealing, and if worded correctly it can be combined with dump-off.

On the other hand, among the physical abilities, there are traits that make the "basher" teams slightly better at dodging, catching and picking up the ball. Perhaps a skill that slightly improves passing would fit on this list too.....

Passing Skill: Perfect Spin, or Physical Ability: Mech Eye.
When this player passes the ball, and the reciever touches a line dividing 2 range categories on the range ruler, then the pass is treated as the shorter of the 2 ranges.

It seems a little TOO weak to little ol' me. What if rather than Strong Arm (reducing the range by a whole degree) what if the thrower's range was extended another square? (Thus, short+one square=short throw)

But then you would probably need another range ruler just for that skill.

Hi StyroKing,
the skill actually gives 1 extra square of range.
The rules state that if a player touches a divider, use the longest range.
With the skill, you get the shorter range in stead.

Since the divider goes through 1 square, I suppose that it's a 1 square increase.
