Get GW to feel a little involved, and get them to do a Bugman's XXXXXX advert. ;)

These adverds are the first adress too look.

But for these adverts you need some people who actually act. Then you can flash in the advert and a commentator tells the jingle.

So adverts are no problem.

Personally if its going on the net and is probably going to be linked from Gws site and maybe even a mention in White dwarf, i would scrap all adverts that are remotely like / soundlike or have anything to do with a known brand.

Its the same with music you would have to get a band to write, produce and perform a new track. Music rights are not something to be messed with.

unless you use a piece of music that's older than 50 years as the artist then loses all royalty rights so makes it much cheaper although b visuals to the chartleston might be one step too far for even the most eclectic of tastes

Well if we cut out every funny redone of a brand we will been left with, lemme think 0 addverts. :D

Maybe some brands which are only Blood Bowl like McMurtys mabe.

GW is not the organizer of the tourney, the NAF is. And as it is still a non profit tournament I dont think we will have much trouble, as we are also not hired by GW or in any other financial relation ship. And we are not even a part of the NAF. So most of us are just plain people.

We dont want to make actually money or sell a bottle of Orca Cola.

Doesn't matter, it's close enough to the original brand name. Is it REALLY worth taking the risk, becoming personally liable as the person organising this part?

Quite happy to be chief casting director it you would prefer:

Puggy Baconbreath (Venomous Breath)

Dirty Dan (Dan Titan)

Bilerot Vomit Flesh (Max_H)

Scrappa Sorehead (Eggster - the morning after the night before)

I think that it does matter actually. I'm fairly sure that if what you are producing is a spoof rather than an actual (rival) product then you can pretty much get away with anything provided that it isn't libellous.

In my opinion its not worth the risk. I am not allowed to use a similar style / parody of adverts / music videos at work when creating music pieces and or or interviews.

It's my opinion that people on this board really don't know what they think they know and that they're way too conservative. I should know. I'm one of them but we all mean well. :P

If anyone's really concerned arout personal liability they should just incopropate, create a little business to produce this product. Then if anything happens this useless little business takes the hit and disentegrates under the pressure. No one's out anything but a couple bucks to do the original incorporating.
