TOs! You do not need multiple copies of rosters. It's a waste of paper.

A city with an international airport.

A venue with a built in hotel for 2000 people.

Easy transport links.

Examples include: major conference centres like the NEC in Birmingham, New York/Vegas Venues, etc.

Vegas it is. Time to start the campaign!

For those who worry about the place, I dont gamble and there is still plenty of fine entertainment and far too much food everywhere :D

Hmm...Vegas is near to Glendale (in US terms of 'near') so I could combine it with a trip to Arizona to watch the Coyotes play.

Where do I sign?

Awesome question!

Vegas would be a great pick for several reasons; nobody on earth can complain of a lack of nightlife, easy to get there, plenty of hotels. Plus there are so many conventions and events that it should be trivial to find a suitable location.

Other places I'd love to see bid:
Montreal (fun city, plenty of event locations, smoked meat sandwiches, poutine)
New Zealand/Australia
Anywhere sunny and warm

I think wherever it is, the most important thing is a dedicated and experienced organizer team. Wherever the best team is willing to put in the work!

I think it's cool to see all the American support, not sure I agree with Vegas though.

Guess we'll see.

Any particular reason? I was looking at it, not from a how easy to organise, but how easy to sell it to Europeans/Australians to make the trip.

Not sure this is an easy sell to Europeans, tbh. At least not me... it's a long, long flight, would require updating my passport (not sure about VISAs), exchanging currency...

Then again, "an easy sell to Europeans" should never be a make or break, obviously :)

Poor Australians will be shafted whichever place it is held. Unless it is Australia and they are happy to play a World Cup in much the same way Baseball is a World Series :)

Vegas is pretty easy to get to considering it's in the middle of the desert. I know there are multiple direct flights from London, Paris, Amsterdam, Frankfurt, etc, as well as basically every major and midrange airport in the US, Canada, and Mexico. I'm not sure about direct flights from NZ/AUS but I'm certain it's possible with one stop somewhere.
Flights are often bundled with a stay at hotel casinos when purchased, some of these bundles are very competitively priced but shop around.

I'm not sure Vegas needs much effort to sell as a travel destination. Who hasn't heard of Vegas? There's more than gambling of course, plenty of running shows, magic, music. Drive-through wedding chapels if you AND your partner want to save money.

But of course Vegas isn't the unknown part here. The most important aspect of a potential Blood Bowl WC is the organizing team throwing a great tournament. I know there's the Sin City Bowl, so there must be some folks there with experience running a tournament. Will they want to try their hand at a World Cup?

Anyway:
-If you go to a casino, give yourself a hard stop: "If I lose this much money, I will stop playing and go home". Never think, "Crap I just have to win back my money", you'll be there all night and might be homeless. It's best to think of any money you lose as just the price you pay for an evening of games. Once it's gone, it's gone.

-Cocktail waitresses really do bring you free drinks while you're playing. Europeans often seem shocked at the concept. (It's customary to tip your waitress at least $1 per drink).
This isn't charity from the casino; it's well known that many men will make larger and more aggressive (stupid) bets when there are attractive young women around. For the casinos, it's not sexism, just business. For you it's an extremely effective way to drain your wallet.

-My goal is always to break even, essentially gaming and drinking for free. Accept losses with dignity, as any Blood Bowlers should know. Who knows, you might win big!

I like the idea of an American World Cup. If Vegas proves a no-go, would New York or Chicago be viable options? They both have plenty to entertain the thousand-plus Blood Bowlers going and - New York in particular- a city more towards the East Coast would mean cheaper flights for Europeans and thus more travellers.
