Bertha Bigfist is the first female Ogre ever to wear a jersey, although most players had to admit that they wouldn’t have noticed.
Bertha grew up in a remote Ogre tribe beyond the World Edge Mountains, apparently having a lot of trouble about her gender. Although most people have no real understanding of the male/female relationship among Ogres, and to be honest don’t want to know, something must have shook up the peaceful love hugging and head butting Ogre idyll, as Bertha left the desolate area of her tribe with the grim determination of a mother looking for her young. It was just bad news for the opposition that she took it out on Blood Bowl. In 2501 she started for the Amazone team Tlax Warriors and made an immediate impact on the Blood Bowl community by stomping five bewildered Linemen into the ground during one of her ferocious charges towards the end zone, scoring the second of her three touchdowns. No one had ever seen anything like her before. A player with the force of an Ogre and the grace of a dancer. A such unlikely combination, that it earned her the charming nickname: “The Dancing Bulldozer”. It’s just unfortunate that Bertha has somewhat a problem with playing alongside men, although she gets along just fine with Halflings and occasionally plays for an all Ogre team. Admittedly not much to the liking of the male Ogres, who feel sort of inferior and questioned around her massive bulk. But her talents are undeniable and everyone rather plays alongside her charge than being among the defence line she shakes up so beautifully. No doubt, Bertha is one of the greatest talents this sport has produced so far and coaches from all over the world are already on their way to Bertha’s tribe to find more raw talent like hers. And if they don’t end as a cultural misunderstanding on a plate, we soon might see Bertha’s little sister playing alongside her stride, teaching the world the ladies touch. Normally by leaving a huge love bite in the shape of an extremely big fist.

Bertha hails from the far north. She felt out of place among her many brothers and sisters. She could not get along with the Ogress role of keeping cave for the boys. She could not see why she had to stay at home sitting on the food the boys brought back until it was nice and tender. She longed to be out there with the lads catching the man things herself.

One day the tribes men brought back a group of travellers. one was the famous Amazon player Belinda swiftarm. As Birtha lifted up her skirt to settle down on that poor unfortunate. (her large rear being the last thing many a man ever saw!) humming "Sit on my face and tell me that you love me" The body squeeked

"Have you ever thought of an alternative career? A different kind of life?" Intrigued Bertha stopped. Picking the humie up by her scrawny neck she asked what. A rapid conversation and several pictures in the cave floor later bertha was convinced. Taking Belinda as a guide she was out of there- after sitting on the other captives of course.

The next season she played for the Bumpengrynde Allstars and was a revelation. After she learnt that sitting on people when you had knocked them down, though amusing, was not helpful her baletic bulk blasted the opposition. Since then she has been a fan favorite wherever she has been seen.
