Rashnak is a Hobgoblin born in a small Hobgoblin city called the Big Dump which, to no surprise, was nothing but mockery of civilisation or anything similar to it. The only thing the Hobgoblins of the Big Dump were hoping for (besides pillaging and burning down the neighbours' shack) was to get enslaved by one of the large Chaos Dwarf metropolises around. Rashnak's perspective, growing up in a place like that, wasn't actually super and held no better future but one beating per day or one funeral for life. But it shouldn't be, because Rashnak found the (drum roll!) "not-there-but-then-there-Blade". Admittedly a silly name, but it's pretty popular around Hobgoblins and made a lot of impression on the community. You only have to picture the following; a group of Hobgoblins building a circle around two rivals who are facing each other in grim, or what they believe to be grim, poses, then Rashnak would get out the wodden handle of his blade, hold it close to his rival's face and press the button so that the blade all of a sudden leaps into action and shimmers in the light of the campfires. The crowd gets wild, everyone cheers, the looser wets himself and Rashnak makes lazy gestures as if he's owning the place. If that isn't magic, what is? Now in the fantasy of Hobgoblins this is as big as it can get. The question is now, of course, why Rashnak didn't get flattened by someone who does not only wave his knife around, but knows also how to use it? Because wandering around and showing his blade to easily impressed six year olds was cool, but it wouldn't get him out of the Big Dump, and he knew it. So Rashnak started to train a lot by backstabbing his neighbours and after three months became known as Rashnak Backstabber and owner of a whole street in the Big Dump (market value: one deflated ball- in pink, phew). As every Hobgoblin saw his shot at glory by taking out Rashnak Backstabber he didn't run out of practice. A year of fighting off wannabes past, and as Rashnak Backstabber was rather amazingly still breathing at the end of it, it's no wonder that he became a sly, cruel, skilled and scarred fighter who not only knew every trick in the book, but added a few chapters himself. Finally, the Big Dump became too small for a reputation of his magnitude and reached beyond its borders rather quickly. The money of people with interest and Backstabber's talent found each other easily and Rashnak got hired to take out coaches and star players before important games. That made sure that Rashnak popped up rather regularly on the Blood Bowl pitch and messed up the games by going after his targets. From there it was only a small step to become a regular player with a regular pay check as he was present every time a match was played anyway.

Rashnak Backstabber, an Evil Git Hobgoblin who not only knows every dirty trick in the book, but added a few chapters himself, was often hired to “take care” of star players before important matches. It was just too bad that Rashnak’s investigation talent didn’t match his stabbing ability. In fact, he was flat out incompetent to figure out where those star players resided, practiced or even what they looked like. However, instead of bothering himself with getting lost, or confused, he simply stayed put at the stadium waiting for his target to arrive by itself. As a result, it happened rather regularly that Rashnak messed up Blood Bowl games by storming the pitch and taking out as many players as possible, determined to keep his contract, which he always would, sooner or later. But due to Backstabber’s habit, or incompetence, coaches moved on to the practice of hiring him as a player right from the start, as that’s what he’s going to be in the end anyway.
