Chaos roster for TR110 quick tournament

Post by Le Grecologue »

Hi Everybody,

I will play on Sunday a small friendly tournament (LRB5) where my Chaos team is going to face Dark Elves, Chaos Dwarves and Lizardmen.
None of us is very experienced except for the player of the Lizardmen.

I plan to use the following roster at TR110: 6 BM, 4 CW, 1 Mino, 3 RR, 1 FF

The access to the skills is made according to the following mode:
When the calendar is determined, 2 skills before the first match, 1 skill accessible on a double before the second, and again 2 regular skills before the third match.

I anyway think of setting sure hands on one of the BM.
As for other skills, I hesitate to play safe and take block on all my CW or then to make something more destructive but more unpredictable.

What do you think of the roster and which advice would you have on the skills choice?
I read this topic, but maybe you have some more specific advice to provide depending of the teams I will face
Thanks!

vs those teams it wouldn't be that likely you are going to face strip ball

think I'd prefer extra arms over sure hands

can't really go wrong with block, will help against all those teams

tackle will help vs skinks and witch elves (only need one) useless vs cd

guard will help negate the strength of the lizardmen, and make it harder for the chaos dwards, the DE will probably spread out a bit too much

vs the lizardmen, pick on the skinks, so tackle/block, and mighty blow will squish them good, then they can't handle the ball

try and get the hobgoblins on the chaos dwarf team, block will be best and will also negate the dwarfs having it

elves you want to again pick on the weakest armoured players

so perhaps one extra arms, one tackle, and lots of block, boring safe but probably the best choices, perhaps not what you wanted to hear though ;]

Extra Arms is definitely a better choice than Sure Hands.

Considering All of the Block that the Dwarves arfe going to take and the fact that that it what this saurus are pronably going to go for, you would do well to stock up on it as well.

The Chaos Dwarf player will probably stock up on Guard. (Just something to be aware of).

If you want to try something a bit more off the wall you can give Tentacles to your mino, and then use him to pin down any skinks or witch elves who are in scoring positions. Kind of like a Beast of Nurgle who won't loze his TZs!

(Your math looks like it's off, and you only have 10 players)

Yeah there is going to be a lot of AV9 and 8 , but there is also a healthy dose of AV7 (hobgobs, skinks and witch elves). Like I said, it was more off the wall, but sometimes it is fun (and educational) to try something different than the same old same old. Who knows, it may even make a huge difference!

Right, was 4 CW, not 3... :-?

I'm not sure I understand your advice concerning extra arms.
Since I'm not going to pass the ball or to try to intercept, I'm mainly considering the ability to pick-up the ball ; and I think sure hands is better to increase the chance to do that, isn't it ?

reroll the pickup vs +1 picking up catching or intercept

catching includes bouncing balls, throwins, kickoff, passes and handoffs

you may not be planning on doing them, but they happen ;]

you have 3 team rerolls and personally I only really consider surehands if I am going up against a strip ball wardancer or I am light on rerolls

3+ with a reroll is a higher % play than 2+ without one though iirc

I prefer the extra versatility, though its up to you at the end of the day
