Doing damage

Post by dr. evil »

I'm playing in the Spike this year and I'm thinking of going for the most casualtly trophy. What team should I use? Iwas thinking of ogres. Thoughts.

Ogres are capable, but the problem is all the snotlings give your opponents easy casualties.

I think Chaos Dwarves so you could load up on mighty blow, claw and possibly piling on would be the way to go.

I think Norse are a good casualty causing option.

Your casualties are gonna be a combination of opportunities, armor breaks and reaching the vaunted 10+....

For opportunities: gotta have block!

For armor breaks: gotta have claws!

For added reach: gotta have Mighty Blow!

Anything with all that?

Norse are great with loads of block and a big guy that gets claw/MB very fast.

Chaos pact can be good with a piling on minotaur and ogres probably do well with a bunch of piling on ogres. Do fouls count towards cas at the Spike?

Anything in the Dead and Injured box at the end of the game counts and casualties against don't matter. It's all about how much damage you do. Last year the winner played Ogres and rack up 41 in 7 games.

Ogres is best. 6 guys with Mighty Blow and you'll likely loose your games, meaning you'll end up on the lower tables amongst the gobbo's and halflings -> easy casualties!
Just take piling on for every skill on an Ogre. Draco has won many casualty trophies that way.

If the Tournament is using LRB5 Khermi can be a good choice. 4 Tomb guard/mummies with Mighty blow, for skills 2 blitzers with mighty blow and them maybe take Block on your Tomb Guard/Mummies.

At andover this yea Lycos used Khermi and had 8 players with mighty blow (tournament rules allowed 2 players to take skills have need doubles) and he won the tournament and won most casualties (if my memory serves me right).

Spike? Ogres for sure. Spike's low progression rate means that only a Stunty team or Undead will get much Mighty Blow, so you should start with as much as possible. That means Ogres: 5 Ogres, 8 Snots, 2 TRR = 1M and a lot of hit. It also means no Dirty Player, as you should be going one skill per round.

What is Nuffle's tree? Risk its trunk, space the branches. Touchdowns are its fruit.

I didn't think Fouls counted for casualties in most tournaments

Ogres is probably your best bet,

16 snotlings will let you take 8 rerolls and make sure you get those knock downs
