Flame Bowl Undead

Post by Leipziger »

2 x Mummies
2 x Wights
4 x Ghouls
4 x Zombies/skellies

RR: 3

FF:1
AC:1
CL:1

Played a practice game vs Grom on Friday and really enjoyed using the Undead (Grom's Norse playing with AV3 really helped, mind ;))

Guarding wights were great, but the other skills are up for grabs. I did consider Break Tackle on the mummies or stand firm, maybe even 2 x piling on, but perhaps the other skills are better on the ghouls where they might get more use e.g. Sure hands + 2 x DT or maybe sidestep or tackle.

Just one DT or tackle seems to easy to avoid?

1 x BT Mummy
1 x Grab Mummy
2 x Guard Wight
1 x Kick Ghoul
1 x KOR Ghoul
1 x D Catch Ghoul

Ghoul/Mummy skills were fairly redundant in this game as the Norse were quickly down on numbers. I think Sure Hands is more useful than anything I gave the ghouls for that game. I can see the benefit if S Firm mummies or BT but they're quite easy to escape from. Piling On is a nice idea but I don't really want the mummies hitting the deck a lot. DT or Tackle on 2 ghouls seems quite appealing. A pair can provide good coverage and are less easily avoided.

Points added for my own reference.

I'm not a fan of bits and pieces skills. The Guard is solid, but you'll probably never need the others. Last year I took Guard and Ghouls with 2 Block, Wrestle & Sure Feet. Skills you can potentially use every single turn. Sure Feet is to my own personal taste, I'm a sucker for GFIs.

I agree about the other skills. That's why I was thinking of Sure Hands & 2 x tackle/diving tackle.

I like the look of...

Guard (wight) - 5
Guard (wight) - 5
Sure Hands (ghoul) - 4
Wrestle (ghoul) - 3
Wrestle (ghoul) - 3

Maybe switch guard on a wight for block on a ghoul.
