TV 105 Chaos Pact

Post by Xod »

I want to take them to a tourney with 6 games where you get a normal skill before each game and a double skill before game 3. No stacking.

This will be my roster:

Troll
Ogre
Minotaur
Dark Elf
7 Marauders
3 RR
1 AC
1 CL

Skills:
1# Dark Elf: Dodge
2# Marauder: Block
3# Ogre: Block
4# Marauder: Guard
5# Troll: Piling on
6# Marauder: Block

Not quite sure about my skill choices, except for n°1 and I do want a Marauder with Block and one with Guard, but not necessaraly (damn my english :) ) in that order.

For the double, I think that block on the Ogre is the better choice. Or Piling On on the Ogre and Block on the Troll. I don't know :)

Any suggestions?

I would go with:
full positions and 13 guys in all (troll, ogre, mino, skaven, elf, gobbo and 7 marauders)
2 rr
elf: dodge
marauder: leader (could be first choice)
mino: claw
troll/ogre: guard
2 last matches (no special preferences)

Idea: you have a deep roster making your team less prone to take-out.
thye gobbo can foul and gives you a chance for a ott.
three bigguys and after game three a claw mighty blow frenzy monster (try to blitz with tree dize every turn) in conjunction with a possibilty to foul should make you ahead on players and should make the 2-1 grind a possibility.
Keep the ball on the elf at all times in your own drive (unless you trying a ott ofc).

That's actually a great idea, except that I would change the skaven for a marauder since I prefer the AV 8 above the MV 7.

I would give the marauder leader as the first skill.

Still doubting a couple of plays, just hoping that I recieve the team in time (just bought it of ebay) otherwise I'm going powerplaying with amazons

I wouldn't give the troll piling on...with his low movement it just doesn't help really. I'd consider grab or multiple block for him...

the troll is better with block and the ogre with piling on

Will still see if I receive the team on time

I prefer the skaven, but only played 1 tourny with them so far...
and I would take the gob. It gives you some movement (dodge on a 3+) and the possibility for a 1ttd.

Anyway:
I had a lot of fun (and mileage) with giving the marauders MB. You cant win the "block" war anyway vs some teams, so you will be blocking with 2 dice.
Better make them count then, and make sure you get them stunned at least.

But I do see the value of guard, but it really depends on the opposition. 1 guarder wont do a lot in this team, I'm afraid.

Please keep us informed on how things worked out ! :) Good luck !

Yeah in both the danish championships and eurobowl I eventually gave the skaven block, making him quite a capable blitzer...
Guard on one bigguys can make your line untuchable against some opponents, and makes it easier to deal with treemen (even thouhg you would probably loose against woodies anyways)...

I agree that giving a Marauder "Leader" as the first skill is advisable. You are definitely going to need that re-roll.
