NAF Championship - Which Team?

Post by ShriekBob »

Myself and Scally09 have decided on a challenge. He is playing Halflings, I haven't decided on a team yet. The challenge will be, to prep and paint a full team for the NAF Championship in May, but we're not allowed to start till a month before the date. The one month challenge. (Thats when I get money you see).

So, my question is, what team?

I have shortened the list to: -

Khemri (Ramtut as Tomb Guardians - or possibly Ushabti depending on how they look with weapons snipped and arms moved)
(Anubis Safeties and Throwers from Impact as Blitz/Throw Ras)
(Don't know on the Skellie front, possibly the star player from Impact)

Humans (Metal human team from GW)

Elves (Either the metal High Elf team from GW, or the Greebo Sylvania team)

Skaven (Mostly the new Ratmen from Impact, with possibly a few conversions from the metals by GW)

In my case, the team is to include 8-10 linemen, and all the positionals, as I intend to league the team eventually. I will come up with a full purchase list of minis before then, and for that input would be greatfully recieved.

Finally, once I've decided on a team I'm going to be after some assistance with the team build/skills as I've only ever played Humans and Wood Elves of the teams listed above, and even then, not much.

Thank you in advance.

Bob

(Edit: I'm off out right now, but when I get back I'll put links up to the various minis I'm thinking of using, and possibly start putting together some team lists. Cheers)

Having played Humans and Wood Elves, I'd say go with Skaven if you want to go for a similar sort of team to those, or Khemri if you want something completely different.

I second Skaven! Different to the lizards you play now and the Nurgle you played before! fresh style for a fresh start!

Skaven are great fun to play and there is, of course, plenty of scope for future conversion etc if you want some mutations.

Khemri would be quicker probably, but you could have a long weekend at the NAF champs with them...

So, in a total turn up for the books, it looks like I'm gonna end up playing Goblins.

So, any good sources for advice? Other than "prepare to lose" cos that I've already done :D

If bribes are allowed, I'd look into getting one or two.

If not, just load up on gobs and their secret weapons and 2 trolls (obviously) and just have fun. Wich is what you should be doing anyway. :D

It would seem to me that if he's going 'flings, you are irresistably honour bound to go Gobbos.

Mind you, if you do go Gobbo, honour will never bind you ever again!!!

I ended up playing Humans.

I went 1-2-3, and had a lot of fun. Next time tough, next time I will make sure I'm more experienced wit hthe team before I play them.

With Uni time, the team ended up being painted in about 3 hours the day before we left, still, they didn't look too bad.
