1100K Orcs for Orclahoma Bowl

Post by Nuffle_Hate_Me »

Looking for some opinions/advice on these Orc Lists for Orclahoma Bowl.

Rule basics 1,100K including players, re-rolls, fan factor, coaches, and cheerleaders as normal. You may also purchase Normal and Doulbles skills and MA or AV stat increases (1 SKill per player and only 2 x same skill on the team). Plus any Star Players and any team can take these SP: Ripper, Rashnak Backstabber, Ugroth Bolgrot, Varag Ghoul-Chewer, Cromard Dung (special SP)

http://orclahomabowl.com/rules.htm

Here is are the options I have come up with so far:

3 RR plus APO, but only 1 Block BoB

1xPasser (Leader)
4xBlitzer (2xGuard, 2xTackle)
4xBoB (1xBlock)
2xRR
1 APO

These both offer 2xBlock BoBs and another skill or doubles:

1xPasser (Leader)
4xBlitzer (2xGuard, 2xTackle)
4xBoB (2xBlock,1xPileOn)
2xRR

1xPasser (Leader)
4xBlitzer (2xGuard, 2xTackle)
4xBoB (2xBlock,1xPileOn)
1xRR
1 APO

what about:

2x Blitzer with Mighty Blow 200k
1x Blitzer with Tackle 100k
1x Blitzer with Guard 100k
1x Black Orc Blocker with Guard 100k
3x Black Orc Blocker 240k
1x Thrower with Leader 90k
2x Line Orc 100k
2x Re Roll 120k (1from leader gets 3)
1x Apo 50k
totals to 1100k

May want to move Guard from the Blitzer to one of the BOB's

MV 4 with Guard is just too slow for the cage. I just won a tournament with 2 x Guard Blitzers so I am huge fan now. When I have have has the Guard on the BoB they Tend to get all jammed up and not available for the cage or are too slow.

Also Tackle seems much more helpful with Elves, stunties, and "Zons then MB?

MB is there to deal with the AR 7 teams, armor rolls on 7+ is huge. There is always the option of pulling the Guard to the second MB Blitzer dropping the Apo and adding Dirty Player to a third Line Orc

1x Blitzer with Mighty Blow 100k
1x Blitzer with Tackle 100k
2x Blitzer with Guard 200k
4x Black Orc Blocker 320k
1x Thrower with Leader 90k
1x Line Orc with Dirty Player 70k
2x Line Orc 100k
2x Re Roll 120k (1from leader gets 3)
totals to 1100k

Take down the Doge AG teams with Tackle and foul out with the Dirty Player, also thematic :)

Why use a LineOrc? Why not a goblin for the DP?

Also an option, I prefer the Str 3 and the 9 AR

My mega-boring blue collar Orc tourney team -

Black Orcs (x2) with Block - 200k (200k)
Black Orcs with Guard - 200k (400k)
Blitzers (x4) - 320k (720)
Thrower - 70k (790)
LineOrc - 50k (840)
Troll with Block - 140k (980)
Goblin - 40k (1.02m)
RRs (x3) 180k (1.1m)

I prefer the Goblin over the extra LineOrc for a cheap fouler and one turn score option, which is even more valuable in a tournament.

I always prefer my guard on blitzers, they have block and you can get them where you need. Agree there.
I would suggest take 1 tackle, and 1 frenzy. Frenzy is nearly as good as tackle offensively, and will still be useful vs. teams without the dodge skill.
Also wonder if you really need leader? With orcs I find 2 RR to be enough usually. Another stand firm BOB would be great.

Its just too easy to get out of position with Frenzy especially without Stand Firm or Side Step. I just fear a Dodge heavy Amazon or Elf team where one player with Tackle won't be nearly enough.

To me 3 RR is the sweet spot, I only use for emergencies on Blocks, I mostly to move the ball like hand-offs.

For me it would be:
4 Blockers
4 Blitzers
2 Line-Orcs
Leader Thrower
2 RR

8x normal skill (plus Leader)
2 Blockers with Block
2 Blockers with Guard
2 Blitzers with Tackle
2 Linemen with Wrestle

Or
2 Blockers with Block
2 Blockers with Guard
2 Blitzers with Stand Firm
2 Blitzers with Tackle

Let Slip the Orcish Conveyor Belt, and set thine enemies adrift upon ye Sea o' Little Red Dots!
