I am running a NAF tourney in Newport Wales, MArch 27th and 28th March, it will have a shopw off welsh players, and is open to all so could be a good show for welsh players to run out and could even boast some welsh players for the euro's

Whats Happening with team wales? is there a team? I have a small group of players at a reasonable standard thats fit the criterea of being welsh looking to play Bloodbowl against the french and italians and any other people tbh.

If they're interested, they need to get involved in NAF tournies.
As many as possible.
When they've got some more tournie experience, they'll have a better idea of whether they'll enjoy heading off to an event which where the standard will be very high and the costs considerable.

The GT? Fantastic! I'll be there, along with about 100 others
Not sure there is a captain at the moment as such, want the job?

To be honest team Wales has never had a captain because we've never had a team.
I tried (and failed) to get a team together last year and therefore became team captain by default. Unfortunately I haven't been able to put any time into getting a team together this year due to moving house, kids, work etc, etc.
However, I honestly believe that this could be the year that team Wales makes its debut (fingers crossed)
I will be at the GT next weekend so it might be a good idea to meet up with everyone interested and have a beer or two while we discuss it.
I know there are a few players who were not available last year but can make it this year.

Re: Team Wales Needs You!! (If your welsh....or welshish)
did any one sort any thing at the GT regarding team wales? we had 4 of us there and I was the one draped in the ~Welsh flag during the bugmans quiz.
Im very keen to make this happen.
How many players do we need? what constitutes welsh? how long living in the country count?
If you want I can set up and arrange a tournement for Welsh players to qualify. we could use the rules set for the Eurobowl 2010 if needs.
I can set it up for NAF run and have people looking to qualify play. I might be able to get a venue that costs very little. All people would need to do is Travel.
let me know what you think to this idea.

Re: Team Wales Needs You!! (If your welsh....or welshish)
I'd understood it to be Soccer rules which are based on nationality.
But the England, Scotland, Wales & Northern Ireland has the weird overlay which is:
The associations of these four countries entered an agreement regarding international eligibility in 1993 which provides that a player holding a British passport is eligible to play for the country of his birth, the country of the birth of either of his natural parents or the country of birth of any of his natural grandparents. If the player, his natural parents and his natural grandparents were born outside the U.K., he may play for the home country of his choice. Our understanding is that once a player has played for one of the home countries, even if it is only a friendly match, the 1993 agreement precludes him playing for another home country. The FIFA rule change for players under 21 must be followed in the U.K., however. Under U.K. law, a player (or anyone, for that matter) who was born abroad becomes eligible for a British passport after five years of lawful residence in the country, and he thus becomes eligible to play for one of the home countries provided he has not played for another national side in official competition.
Useful as a guideline?
