And especially if it´s a rookie nation, it could easily turn out some rather big problems.
I fear that due to internal trouble, a Eurobowl tournament will suddenly be cancelled due to whatever trouble they run into.

2) People will start arguing about time and everything, if it´s not relatively fixed as now. I dislike the idea of countries "bidding" for the Eurobowl, it is much better to know where it´s going to be held, so you have a year to prepare for it - to try and search for interesting and cool places to play.

3) If we are interested, I know I have said this before but I´m giving it another try.
If we are changing system, I suggest we arrange things not 1 year in advance, but two years.
In that case, we can apply for EU to sponsor us, due to the fact that we´re integrating the different countries in europe.
They will probably sponsor us with an amount in the region of 10.000 Euros. This should go into organising everything, so that accomodation & cost of living would be minimal - perhaps even travels.

Hopefully this would open up for more countries, as the price would be lower...
1) I disagree. For example the rookie nation could win!

2) I totally agree.

3) Very very interesting. It could be easy arranged starting from the year XX classification. The first classificated team (that has hosted or not...) could organize the XX+1 and the second the XX+2. The first of the XX+1 edition'll host he XX+3 ecc...
Obviously I don't know if I'll still play BB in the next 2 years...

Well... as France already got the Title and never organised it yet...
As WC was won by a French Team ...
As France is actually very strutured with a French Championship along the year through dozen tournaments...

As France will be in the top fligh this year and the other ones already organised it...

France will be the next place.

Sadly this is the case in Sweden.
I've been trying to get interest in a local tabletop league going in a group on facebook that started for the computer game...the efforts have been met with some positive answers, but mostly extreme apathy.

It's tragic, because there are some pretty good players over here. The Overriding attitude though seems to be "Why play with minis and pay to travel and so on when I can play against people around the world on FUMBBL".

+1 for Grums Idea.

The next best team which has never hosted it, will host it the next year. If they decline, they just say it, and the next in line will have the right to choose.

I support Grum's idea too. However I would stay a way from counsils formed by team captains to decide on such matters. I think the Eurobowl already is too much an aristocracy as it is. The NAF with its elected leadership and open membership is much more logical body for this.

Yesterday I talked with Farina explaining the matter; he agrees with the formula: "the 1st ranked among those nations which never hosted EB, will host the tournament next year". So if other team captains agree too, the formula will be included in the ruleset of EB 09.

That's great news Beppe.

Which captains are up for it then?

We'll wait official response from:

Pippy (England)
Driesfeld (Belgium)
Kithor (Germany)
Dave (Holland)
Topper (Denmark)
BlackOrc (Hungary)
Turin (Austria)
Jokaero (Switzerland)

We'll adopt this new rule if the majority of the captains want it

Already voted:

Farina (Italy) +1
Daz (France) +1
Valen (Scotland) +1
Kewan (Spain) +1
Haktar (Portugal) +1

That's true, but in 2006 no one talked about the hosting country.
