Where is this guy going? Im guessing Malmø or close to Malmø and thats possible at 21.00. If he cant get home at 21.00 he cant get there in time in the morning either.zulu wrote:And more to the point, we will not have a full team in the evening as 1 of our players is travelling to/fro Sweden.zulu wrote:The Scots would rather be social than play an extra game.

Re: Captains room
A straw poll from Team England was inconclusive.
We don't hate the idea of 7 (broadly) but don't all love it either.
We will fall in with whatever you crazy Danes decide.

Some Austrians don't really care if it's 6 or 7 games, while others (like myself) don't like the idea and would rather socialize. Therefore, our vote is:
Dislike the idea - but can live under it

Re: Captains room
Just one question.
Up to know 20 people voted so far and I dont think this were only team captains (or will there be 20 nations this year )

Why I asked the Captains to state their vote in the thread

There have bin questions from my team about skill selection. In the mail i got it said you wanted them with the team roosters but in rules it says they are chosen before the first match. Can i get a clarification?

Before the first match - which means before you know who you´re gonna play - therefor it goes with the roster.adhansa wrote:There have bin questions from my team about skill selection. As stated further down in the team development part, skills given prior to turn 1 & 4 are given in the pre-match sequence.
I admit it could be clearer though.
- I have now updated the rules to make this even clearer.

Re: Captains room
How does a possible 7th game on Saturday evening (why hasn't it been confirmed yet?) interfere with the skills? Will the second batch of skills be given before round 4 or before round 5?

Re: Captains room
Well since the vote was up until and including the 1/10th it obviously couldn´t be confirmed before then.. But it´s updated now.Da_Great_MC wrote:How does a possible 7th game on Saturday evening (why hasn't it been confirmed yet?) interfere with the skills? It will be 7 games (of the captains that voted 5 were for (and one more slightly for), against 2 who disliked and 2 who mildly disliked it. The rest were either undecided or didn´t vote.)
The skills will be given prior to game 4, and the ruleset has been updated to clarify this change.

Re: Captains room
I consider this a very sad turn of events.
My main reason for going to BB tourneys is to be sociable.
After a four game day, finishing at 9pm, the scope for a few social drinks/other games/whatever is greatly reduced.
I imagine a significant number of people will leave sunday evening.
A very great shame.

Re: Captains room
Personally I find four game perfectly compatible with socializing, but I can respect, that this is a matter of opinion. In Denmark we have had five games in a day at several events that I found to be social events, but I know that some people disagree with this. The bar at the venue will be open til midnight, and Im sure some people will be going out after that. More info is coming you way on shortly on what plans we have for Friday, Saturday and Sunday night.
On Sunday night a significant number will leave, but fortunately a very significant number of people are staying, including the Danes well over 100 people have accommodation for Sunday night. So I would think they will be staying for dinner and Sunday night socializing.
Last but not least we have the venue on Friday night with the sole purpose of you guys socializing while we prepare for the tournament, and we are planning a trip to Copenhagen city center around midnight for those who don't mind settling for a few hours of sleep.
I hope this gives you some comfort?

I believe it´ll be possible to socialize while playing a 7th game - I obviously accept if somebody should feel different.

Re: Captains room
I actually object strongly to this 7th game. It is not acceptable changing the rules and extending the playing time AFTER teams have registered and payed. People signed up on the basis of what was originaly laid out and whilst for some the extension is okay for others it is not. As I have already stated one of our players is not available Saturday evening so I'm not quite sure what we are supposed to do here.
As as far as the socialising is concerned, I don't think you can realisticly say that we can socialise during the 4th game, when most people will be trying to concentrate, but then maybe us Scots idea of socialising is a bit different to some other nations
