Sorry for my long silence, I've been very busy. However, we have finalzied the rules and put them on the HP (finally, I know). In short:

tr105, 6 skills - all at the start (before game 1, no player gets more than 1 skill)

tier teams: tier 1 gets 2 extra skills, tier 2 a double skill and a normal extra skills and can have one player with 2 skills
gobbos can buy bribes for 50k, halflings can buy a master chef for 100k.

There will be 6 games. first round will be team performance of the years before (like in Denmark). The upper and lower half will play randomly among each other.
Games 2-6 will be swiss/swiss (even the last/6th round will be)

1-0,5-0 will be kept
tiebreaker: direct match, sos, netto tds, netto cas, brutto tds, brutto cas; (if everything else fails: dancing contest :smoking: )

Tier one: All races not in tier two or three.
Tier two: Chaos, Chaos Pact, Elf, High Elf, Human, Khemri, Nurgle, Slann.
Tier three: Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Underworld, Vampire.

Turin,

Thanks for posting.

Is there to be a captain's vote / discussion on the above as has been the case in previous years?

Thanks!

Phil.

You got the tiers wrong in this tread.

So to be clear only tier three gets an any table skill?

What the captains needs to adress imo, are the major change to 105tv and the all skills at once.
I would really like to hear the reasonning behind this change

Why change what works? I am not a fan of change for the sake of change :)

Are those rules finalized or simply a suggestion?
There´s a tradition for rules being discussed and then voted for/agreed upon by the captains..
Obviously with the final say of the host..

Supposed to be like this, right?
tier teams: tier 2 gets 2 extra skills, tier3 a double skill and a normal extra skills and can have one player with 2 skills
gobbos can buy bribes for 50k, halflings can buy a master chef for 100k.

Tier one: All races not in tier two or three.
Tier two: Chaos, Chaos Pact, Elf, High Elf, Human, Khemri, Nurgle, Slann.

And the tier skills and the fact only tier 3 teams get a double skill.

I'd like to at least discuss the seeded first round, as well as the points raised by our Danish friends above, and how we felt that worked out the first time around.

There are countries that rarely post on TFF and may not be aware these rules have been posted. I seem to remember in 2010 there were some ideas from France that were relatively novel, and the captains were contacted for a chat away from the main forum, reflecting the views of their teams. Potentially a good idea here?

Would be nice to have them on the NAF forum too!

These rules seem a major change from previous years, and I hope there is a Captains' discussion before they are finalised.

I am also a bit concerned that we are in a situation where the hosts have final say over rules. What is to stop {insert nation} deciding that TV150 with Wizards, Stars and teleporters should be used next year?

Wow, huge changes on such a short notice. With theses rules, I guess a lot of coaches who trained in the past months with 110 TV teams will have to play a different race/roster.

too many skills

In my opinion it's better 4 skills and tier 1+ tier 2+ tier 3 conditions

The homepage, http://www.eurobowl.eu/ , is not that clear on the rules
Tier three, 1 trait 1 extra start skill: Goblin, Halfling, Ogre, Underworld, Vampire
That "1 trait" is the same as a double isnt clear in my world.

Amen to that

Yeh, I´m not sure if there is a manifest - but if there isn´t one should be created - after this event I´d say (By the captains perhaps?)

I would like to see a captains forum too. While the skills and team selection raises issues the split draw does too for wales

Team Germany would like to have a forum discussion for the captains as well, please. :D

Regardless of the outcome of this years rules changes, we could at least agree on some kind of ruling for future hosts (from '14 onwards) which clarifies what kind of rules changes must be open to discussion (and final approval by the captains) and which changes might be up to the host.

And we don't like the current idea of the first round draw either.

I quite agree with Sputnik about rule changes. Team France would be happy too if a captains' Forum was created. Changing the rules is not a problem, but perhaps we could talk about it together first ?
In France, players and rosters were elected by the community on the basis of Team Value 110 (+ 5 single /+ 1 double). In addition, coaches trained for the last six months in this format. Playing with Team Value 105 with only simple skills will change a lot of things for us.
